Gekko reports major landmark for ILR with 200th production scale unit The Gekko Systems team has announced a major landmark with the sale of its 200th production scale InLine #LeachReactor (ILR) to #MarmatoMine in Colombia, operated by Aris Mining Colombia. The InLine Leach Reactor was invented in 1997 by Gekko’s Technical Director and Co-Founder Sandy Gray one year after the start-up of Gekko in 1996. The concept of chemically treating #gravitygold concentrates rather than using physical recovery on a shaking table was driven by the poor recoveries (50-60%) and low security associated with shaking table devices which were standard uses. Typically, gold plants would experience a spike in cyclone overflow and high tailings grades when gravity concentrates were being treated by tables in the gold room and before intensive cyanidation became standard in gold operations. Key people like Nick Mooney and Nick Katsikaros made significant contributions to the concept and efficacy of the operation. The ILR was the first commercialised intensive leach technology and Gekko says it remains the global technical and market leader in the gold industry worldwide. Gekko adds: “Sandy and Gekko’s award-winning technical and design team continue to constantly review and improve ease of operation and recoveries from the unit which typically run around 98-99%. Whilst developed in Australia, the concept really took off in Africa first with AngloGold Ashanti installing units in many of their operations in the late 1990s and is now installed worldwide.” Fully optimised to mining operations, the ILR boasts consistent free #goldrecoveries of over 98% as well as superior recoveries of #gold from complex ##sulphide ores. Leaching coarse (>300 micron) gravity concentrates and recycling leach solutions delivers low energy and operating costs. #Rapidleach kinetics and an automated system provide fast #mineralrecoveries. In place of open shaking tables that are prone to theft, the enclosed ILR has lockable access points to protect against theft losses and reduce manual handling. The ILR can be easily retrofitted to any #grindingcircuit. The modular, small footprint design requires minimal space for integration. The ILR’s chemical handling is automated and important leach parameters are electronically controlled, making operations faster and safer. #Tailings generated are smaller and can be coupled with the detoxification of cyanide, which protects the environment. #futureofmining #goldprocessing

Large rope shovel overhauls at Lomas Bayas, Bulga and Jwaneng Large #electric #miningshovels represent major multi-year investments for mining operations and as such their #maintenanceplanning, particularly in relation to major #overhauls, plays a crucial role over the lifetime of these machines. Three major mining operations have recently given updates in relation to repairs and service of these prime loading tools. This work comes with major challenges given the size of the machines, such as the lifting expertise involved in accessing the major components safely. Starting with Chile, in a record time of 38 days, the mine maintenance department at Glencore’s Compañía Minera Lomas Bayas #copper mine recently completed major repairs of Shovel 202, a P&H (Komatsu Mining) #4100XPB, aligning with strategic planning, technological innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement. This crucial asset has 23 years of operation and more than 140,000 hours of activity. Thanks to the synergy between areas, teamwork and operational excellence, this overhaul was carried out in a minimum of time, maintaining the highest standards of safety and operation. Wilson Melgarejo Gálvez, Mine Maintenance Planner and project leader, highlighted that “there was a remarkable deployment of our own technical staff and that of four external companies. We used state-of-the-art technology in synchronous lifting, lifting and machining, which significantly reduced human exposure to risks.” The mining company said the success is a testament to its commitment and ability to overcome challenges and stay ahead in the industry. Barloworld Equipment Botswana’s operation at Debswana Diamond Company’s #Jwaneng diamond mine is currently undergoing a 50,000-hour Midlife Planned Component Replacement (PCR) for the #Bucyrus (Caterpillar Inc.) 495HR electric rope shovel, which is number 212. This involves replacing the swing machinery and center pintle according to OEM specifications. The machine will be completely stripped and de-decked for access. This is the second project of its kind in Africa, with the first done on electric rope shovel 210 in 2022. The project is expected to run from May to September 2024. Finally, a major overhaul of a Komatsu #4100XPC AC P&H electric rope shovel was recently carried out at Glencore Australia’s #Bulga coal operation in Australia. With 60,000 hours in the books, across its 10-year life, the method of overhauling the 1,536 t machine is unique as the entire machine is pulled away from the car body. The team installed a rail system, lifted the machine, and moved the upper structure (hose and revolving frame) away from the car body and undercarriage. This method makes it easier to disassemble and assemble the undercarriage and reduces delays on the upper structure work. About 30,000 working hours went into the shutdown with the rebuild giving the machine another 10 years of operating life. #minemaintenance #loadingtools #mininguptime

EnviroGold Global to Build Demonstration Plant in Brisbane, Australia Centralized Demonstration Facility Will Process Tailings from Multiple Mining Sites - April 25, 2024 07:07 ET TORONTO, April 25, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EnviroGold Global Limited (CSE: NVRO | OTCQB: ESGLF | FSE: YGK) (“EnviroGold,” “NVRO,” or the “Company”), a technology company enabling the global mining industry to monetize valuable metals contained in mine waste and tailings, reduce environmental liabilities and improve social and environmental outcomes, is pleased to provide an update on the Company’s plans to demonstrate and commercialize its proprietary leaching technology (“NVRO Clean Leach Process”). EnviroGold has selected a manufacturer to construct the processing unit that will be used to demonstrate the NVRO Clean Leach Process to several potential customers, including major global mining companies. In addition, EnviroGold has received an indicative quote for the construction and containerization of the unit, which is materially less than initially estimated. The Company expects these developments will allow it to commence commercial demonstrations of the NVRO Clean Leach Process during the fourth quarter of 2024. The Company has received interest from several major mining companies asking that it locate the NVRO Clean Leach Process processing unit at their mine sites. To better streamline the testing process and serve multiple clients in quick succession, the Company has opted to construct and install the unit at a centralized industrial facility near Brisbane, Australia, managed by the EnviroGold technical team. There are several benefits of installing the processing plant at a centralized location, which include, allowing multiple mines to ship tailings for processing and testing, eliminating regulatory and environmental permitting issues associated with mine site development, and allowing the Company to decrease turnaround time between mining company demonstrations. Under this arrangement, customer tailings will be transported to the NVRO demonstration facility, processed using the NVRO Clean Leach Process with the residues transported back to the mine for disposal. The tailings throughput and data collected throughout each project’s tailings processing operations will be sufficient to enable customers to proceed to scale up, front end engineering, and design and project economic assessments. In addition to allowing multiple mine sites to test the NVRO Clean Leach Process, the demonstration plant will allow the Company to extrapolate its findings into the necessary data for the bankable feasibility study (“BFS”) required to fully commercialize the business. The Company believes that having this will dramatically reduce timelines for major mining companies to deploy the NVRO Clean Leach Process on a much larger commercial scale.
