🎙️Live Reading Series – Biostatistics Article 1: Professor Konstantin Slavin reads aloud an article by Quentin F. Gronau, Garston Liang, and Alexander Thorpe that explores Bayes factors as an alternative to p-values for hypothesis testing. They explain how Bayes factors (BF10) measure evidence for an effect versus no effect, with BF10 greater than 1 indicating evidence for an effect, and BF10 less than 1 indicating evidence against it. The discussion highlights the advantages of Bayes factors, such as quantifying evidence for both the null and alternative hypotheses and allowing for continuous evidence monitoring. Using simple analogies, the article provides clear guidance on interpreting Bayes factors and address common misconceptions. ✔️ YouTube video: https://lnkd.in/g7kBaK77 ✔️Biostatistics articles on the INS website: https://lnkd.in/gtRmHVHT

🎙️ Live Reading Series – Biostatistics Article 3: Prof. Konstantin Slavin reads aloud an article by Garston Liang, Quentin F. Gronau, and Alexander Thorpe which addresses the use of N-of-1 trials in neuromodulation and personalized medicine. N-of-1 trials are a powerful method for investigating treatment effects on an individual basis, making them ideal for patients with stable symptoms and chronic disorders. The article also highlights the statistical considerations for analyzing N-of-1 trials, emphasizing the importance of proper design and analysis to ensure valid conclusions. ✔️ YouTube video: https://lnkd.in/gG3U5b5w ✔️ Biostatistics articles on the INS website: https://lnkd.in/gtRmHVHT #biostatistics #statistics #neuromodualtion #INS #podcast

Intern at Alexandria Faculty of Medicine | Science Communicator | Data Science Enthusiast | TOT Planner
We have completed our biostatistics TOT program, which included 12 sessions. The final session on survival analysis was led by the outstanding Mennatullah Essam. This marks the end of a long and wonderful educational journey. The next phase promises to be even more exciting for future biostatisticians. 👀 سعيد جدا بكل اللي وصلناله مع بعض طلعنا باستفادة كبيرة وانا اولهم وان شاء الله الجاي اكتر 💓 #research #R #biostatistics #TOT

#Biostatistics is the application of statistical methods to research in health-related fields, such as biology, medicine, and public health. Biostatisticians use statistical methods to: #Design studies to collect the right data #Analyze, evaluate, and interpret results #Account for variables, biases, and missing data #Biostatisticians work with experts in other fields, such as biologists, cancer specialists, surgeons, and geneticists. Biostatistics is important because it helps to: #Understand the cause, natural history, and treatment of disease #Improve the #health of people and communities #Solve important design and analysis questions that are critical to the success of scientific research The field of biostatistics is growing rapidly, and biostatisticians are in high demand. This is due to new advances in many areas, including bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, neuroimaging, and environmental science. #atheenapandian WWW.ATHEENAPANDIAN.COM My sincere thanks to biostatistics.ca MB3 Biostatistics MRC Biostatistics Unit Biostatistics & Statistical Programming Biostatistics for MSLs & Medical Writers Biostatistics Research Penn Medicine Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics Epidemiology, Biostatistics & Occupational Health

I recently completed the NPTEL course on Introduction to Biostatistics, an 8-week comprehensive course. It covers a wide range of topics related to statistical analysis in biology, including probability, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and experimental design. The assignments throughout the course allowed me to assess my understanding and reinforce my learning. Excited to apply these insights in future projects..!! #biostatistics #nptel #healthcare #datascience
