🌍✨ A Productive Working visit from Gerbert Kunst – Director International Affairs - Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to the UK! ✨🌍 This week, I had the honour of welcoming my director Gerbert Kunst to London. Together with him and Corné Berkheij we were able to engage in insightful discussions to strengthen partnerships between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom in the field of education and science. Here's a brief overview of his visit: 🇪🇺 Meeting with the EU Delegation: Discussed pressing topics in the EU-UK relationship including #youthmobility and gathered valuable insights on Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ collaboration between institutions. 👩🏫👨🏫 Dinner with Dutch Academics in the UK: Shared experiences, exchanged ideas, and fostered collaboration within the Dutch Academic Network UK academic community in the UK, laying the groundwork for enhanced cooperation. Had constructive conversations about CONNECTS-UK and explored avenues for integrating the network into the international DNA network. 🏫 Visit to the Department for Education: Met with Faye Taylor to strengthen our bilateral relationship, celebrating past achievements and exploring future opportunities in education, including #FurtherEducation, #digitalisation and #studentmentalhealth initiatives. 🎓 Exploration at UCL: Engaged with UCL representatives and #students to gain insights into the UK-NL relationship from an stakeholder perspective. Delved into discussions with Christine Sas from the Dutch Studies Department, highlighting the significance of Dutch Language and Culture Studies abroad. Overall, it was an enriching experience, reaffirming our commitment to collaboration and innovation in education and science between our two nations. #NextEurope What is the structure of education systems in European countries, from pre-primary to tertiary level in the school year 2023/2024? The answer is in this new Eurydice Facts and Figures! It includes national diagrams, a guide to reading the diagrams and a map showing the main organisational models of primary and lower secondary education. The information is available for 39 European educational systems covering 37 countries participating in the Erasmus+ programme.

Since yesterday, we are present at the meeting of the Coordinators of the European universities Alliances!  We had the opportunity to present alongside Erasmus Student Network our perspective on the student engagement in the activities of the Alliances and their central role in the governance of the Alliances.  More than ever: students should be at the center of the initiative! #Students #UniversityAlliances #Europe

The European Commission has awarded a consortium to continue the Study in Europe project. 🌍 The consortium includes the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS), Campus France, the German Academic Exchange Service and Dutch organisation Nuffic. 🌐 The project aims to create a strategy for the unified promotion of Europe as a study destination and facilitate connections between institutions, prospective students and partners. 🏫 Read more about the Study in Europe project: https://lnkd.in/gjrEm3TN #StudyinEurope #EU #EUeducation #InternationalStudent #InternationalEducation #IntlE

VirtuEU - one of my greatest academic challenges so far? To coordinate ten international institutions towards the General Objective of the VirtuEu project which can be summarized as follows: To promote European and universal values of democracy, peace, freedom, solidarity, and collaboration among [2,500] young people in Europe and the Western Balkans; to strengthen their identity as active citizens and residents of Europe and providing with adequate skills that will improve their employability chances. The project focuses on young people, who study in HEIs (Higher Education Institutions) in European and Western Balkan countries through online and offline non-formal educational activities. Including at the Universidade de Aveiro - young students such as in the picture below will need to help me. Partners include European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB), Metropolitan College Global Engagement and others.
