Introba is very proud to participate in and support a Bridges to Prosperity rural infrastructure development program for the first time this year! 🌉 Our journey began with a shared vision to make a tangible difference in communities that need it the most, and we're partnering with Sidara and other global alliance partners at Dar and TYLin to send a dedicated team to #Rwanda, where they will help build the #MuregeyaTrailBridge in #Karongi. Senior Project Manager Mary Anne Schmitt Speidel, P.E. from our #LosAngeles office will represent Introba in this inspiring endeavor: "Bridges to Prosperity believes that connection is the foundation for opportunity, and that vision means so much in the physical sense and the figurative sense. I love connecting with different people; it's one of the joys of being a project manager. I believe that connecting others to what they need (whether it be services, information, etc.) is important, and I operate with that mentality in my everyday life." Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency: A Community Support Project 🤝 At Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency, entrusted with the nation's road network, we've embraced the responsibility of ensuring safe and efficient transportation. As Engineers to Contract (ETC), our journey involves collaboration and commitment, overseeing various projects to support the agency's vital endeavours. 🌪️ Challenge: Navigating Cyclone Aftermath Despite our ongoing relationship with Waka Kotahi across diverse projects, Cyclone Gabriel and subsequent storms threw an unexpected curveball. Road closures, landslides, and significant damage disrupted community connectivity, demanding a collective and highly targeted effort. 🤝 Solution: Building Bridges & Relationships As ETC, we go beyond conventional contract management. Focused on relationship management, we ensure all parties understand their contractual obligations, navigating high-pressure scenarios with confidence. Our strategic contract administration prevents conflicts, fostering a collaborative environment and allowing the agency to prioritise road maintenance and recovery. 🌐 Result: Paving the Way for Progress Post-storm recovery work in the Gisborne region continues to take centre stage. Our contribution involves working closely with Waka Kotahi to maintain and reopen roads, supporting the community's immediate and long-term goals. With substantial government investment in road upgrades over the next five to ten years, we envision an extended partnership with Waka Kotahi, eagerly anticipating a pivotal role in the upcoming project phase. Presenting #RurAll Project Partner - Development agency of city of Prijedor "PREDA" PREDA is an organization dedicated to working independently in collaboration with partners to develop solutions for social key challenges and create the foundation for long-term, sustainable community development. Our principles are based on a balanced approach to economic and social development and environmental protection and over the past 20 years, PREDA has officially expanded its scope of work to include social development and environmental issues, addressing challenges related to education, tourism, rural development, migration, youth, energy efficiency, health, and civil protection. The most recent data shows that vacant dwellings make up 40% of the total number of dwellings in the Prijedor region, and with the population movements showing negative trends, the creation of housing policies at the local/regional/national level is imperative, meaning that RurALL project lines with the most challenging issues faced in our territory. Utilizing our experience and links with rural communities, as well as its expertise in mapping analysis and implementing pilot actions, PREDA will be able to identify crucial challenges related to urban-rural living conditions and work on developing solution models. PREDA is committed to enhancing rural development through projects that promote economic growth and sustainability in rural areas. By collaborating with local communities, our goal is to establish innovative management models and enhance infrastructure to elevate the standard of living in rural areas. Our mission is to convert challenges such as depopulation into opportunities for development and prosperity. #InterregDanube #RurAll #depopulation Interreg Danube Region Programme

💡 | Infrastructure is expensive and lasts a long time. That means that when we build new infrastructure, it should meet the needs of our communities now and into the future. The Bridge to Nowhere in Whanganui is an example of where a lack of foresight and planning lead to a bridge that was unused less than 10 years after it was built. Built accross the Mangapurua Stream in 1936 to service a small settlement, the bridge does still stand today. However, by the time it was finished many of the settlers had already left and everyone had gone by 1944. Today, the bridge is a significant attraction for the region and is used far more now then when it was built. Have an interesting story about the history of infrastructure in New Zealand? Share it in the comments and we may feature it. #History #Infrastructure #Planning #Bridge #NewZealand #Aotearoa #Story

What does the future of public housing look like in Aotearoa? Some would say it’s Te Mātāwai, in central Auckland the newly built Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities apartment complex. The recently completed project is drawing acclaim not only for its 24/7 single-site supported housing model but the fact that 60% of the units are accessible or universally designed and have been recognised with Lifemark ratings. Rural communities in countries like Rwanda often face significant challenges due to a lack of basic infrastructure, creating a deep divide between people, goods, and essential services. In a shared commitment to improving lives in rural areas, Sidara companies—including Dar, TYLin, and Introba—partnered with Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) to construct the Muregeya Trail Bridge in Rwanda. This 100-meter hybrid suspension bridge over the Muregeya River in Karongi addresses the critical needs of the Rubengera community, providing safe and reliable access to essential services for 2,500 people. Our dedicated team of 10 volunteer specialists, chosen from over 100 applicants from Dar, TYLin and Introba brought their expertise in architecture, structural engineering, and construction safety to this impactful project. The Muregeya Trail Bridge exemplifies the power of collaboration and corporate social responsibility in transforming isolation into connectivity and challenges into opportunities. #WeAreIntroba #RuralDevelopment #CorporateSocialResponsibility #EngineeringForGood #CommunityImpact #BridgesToProsperity #Infrastructure #SustainableDevelopment
Rural communities in countries like Rwanda often experience outsized adverse effects due to a lack of basic infrastructure, which creates a deep divide between the country’s people, goods, and essential services. With a shared belief in bettering lives in rural communities worldwide, the Sidara companies, including Dar, TYLin, and Introba, teamed up with Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) for a collaborative construction project in Rwanda to build the Muregeya Trail Bridge—a 100-meter hybrid suspension bridge over the Muregeya River in Karongi. The Muregeya River is well-known for flooding and has slowed the development of the people of Rubengera. Crossing the river during monsoon periods becomes dangerous, and children can't go to school, businesses are disrupted, and health centers become inaccessible. For the 2,500 people relying on this bridge, safe and reliable access to essential services becomes a matter of life. Our in-house team of 10 outstanding volunteer specialists, selected from over 100 applicants from Dar, TYLin, and Introba, brought their architecture, structural engineering, and construction safety expertise to this project. The Muregeya Trail Bridge shows just how much collaboration and corporate social responsibility can do to plant a seed for positive change. With this journey, they take along all the hopes and dreams of an entire community, ready to turn isolation into connectivity and challenges into possibilities. My Experience Exploring Alaro City's Potential ---- When I first came across Alaro City, I was intrigued by its ambitious vision and potential to revolutionize urban development in Nigeria. As I delved deeper into its offerings, it became clear to me that Alaro City is more than just a real estate project; it’s a thriving hub of opportunities. Here, I want to share my insights and excitement about the myriad of opportunities that Alaro City presents. The Strategic Location Advantage One of the first things that caught my attention about Alaro City is its prime location within the Lekki Free Zone. Situated along the Lekki-Epe Expressway and close to the future Lekki Deep Sea Port, Alaro City is perfectly positioned to become a significant player in local and international trade. This strategic location offers unparalleled access to markets, making it an ideal spot for businesses looking to expand their reach. I see this as a golden opportunity for investors and entrepreneurs to tap into a rapidly growing economic zone. A Magnet for Investment As I explored more, it became evident that Alaro City is designed to attract a diverse range of businesses. The city’s industrial and commercial zones are tailored to accommodate various sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, technology, and services. This economic diversity is a magnet for investment, fostering an environment where businesses can thrive and innovate. For someone like me, interested in economic development, Alaro City represents a beacon of growth and prosperity. Sustainable Development and Green Living What sets Alaro City apart from other developments is its commitment to sustainability. The city planners have integrated vast green spaces, parks, and environmentally friendly practices into the urban fabric. This dedication to green living not only enhances the quality of life for residents but also aligns with global sustainability goals. I was particularly impressed by the use of renewable energy sources and sustainable building materials, which underscore Alaro City’s commitment to minimizing its environmental footprint. This focus on sustainability presents a unique opportunity for businesses in the green technology sector to thrive.
