Arras Minerals Corporation (ARK:TSXV) is an early-mover into Kazakhstan focusing on critical minerals exploration and development. The country is emerging as a critical minerals powerhouse globally with increasing engagement by western countries and major mining companies over 2023. Arras announced a strategic alliance with Teck Resources Limited Resources on December 7, 2023 that will result in Teck sole funding an initial US$5m generative exploration program across 1900 square kilometers of the Arras license package for 2024-2025. Teck will then have the option to earn up to 75% interest on up to 4, “designated 120 square kilometer projects” by sole funding exploration and development work for US$47.5m per project. The France government has long been running rounds of negotiations to rescue New Caledonian nickel industry, including drafting an agreement of support extension from the French side. Louis Mapou, the president of New Caledonia criticized the agreement as “insufficient” though passed the document to Congress for voting. 📌 Based on the draft of agreement, the France gov will cooperate with local government to 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 for electricity infrastructure construction, making local nickel producers benefit from the cost side. 📌 The additional subsidiary could 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗹 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮, and to increase their profitability from the price war. Australia and Canada’s Joint Statement on Cooperation on Critical Minerals sets out a range of shared priorities where the two countries have agreed to work together...and ASM is excited to be part of the opportunity! Announced by Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, the Hon Jonathan Wilkinson and Australia’s Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, the Hon Madeleine King at #PDAC2024, the statement set out the ambition to “deliver a future where the development of our critical minerals are as clean as they can be, and where our industries are able to compete fairly in the international market.” Supporting bilateral mining and service sector trade and #investment was one of several priorities set out. As the two countries further develop this work, Australian Strategic Materials (ASM) was delighted to progress its own partnerships in Canada with the announcement of a A$400M Letter of Interest from Export Development Canada | Exportation et développement Canada in support of the Dubbo Project – ASM's globally significant rare earth and critical minerals deposit in #NSW. EDC’s conditional LoI is supported by equipment and services supply from Canadian companies for the execution phase of the Dubbo Project. Australian Strategic Materials (ASM) has announced receiving a Letter of Interest (LoI) from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (US EXIM) for a debt funding package valued at up to US$600M (A$923M). This funding package is intended for the construction and execution phase of the globally significant Dubbo Project, which focuses on rare earths and critical minerals. The receipt of the LoI is a significant advancement in ASM's funding strategy for the project. It underscores the recognition of the strong support and engagement from government bodies, investors, and industry groups in North America. The Company also announces the award of six new prospecting licences in the world-renowned Kalahari Copperbelt. Australia will spend A$566-million ($373-million) over the coming decade to map out resource deposits with a focus on reserves of critical minerals, which are vital for high-tech manufacturing and the green-energy transition.
