“I AM BECAUSE WE ARE”
African Ubuntu highlights the interconnectedness of humanity. We value compassion, community, and humanity. Ubuntu promotes harmony, empathy, and collective well being - and this is what the YALI program means to me.
From the beginning of our training, we created an inclusive and open platform to dialogue and engage with our fellows. The engaging master classes further inspired authentic leadership by showcasing practical African leadership examples that we can apply not only for ourselves, but also the communities, countries, and ever-connected regions in which we live to see succeed.
To top it off, being able to access up to date research-based modules which challenged us to critically analyse and expand our knowledge base with key insights on issues such as authentic leadership, civil society and engagement, community engagement, monitoring and evaluation, among others, and topping it off with developing our own community initiatives through project pitches and fundraising models - this has been a very timely, insightful, practical, and very much needed for young people, especially in our African context.
I am honoured to be a part of the amazing young people that have been successfully baked in Civic Leadership, under the prestigious YALI program.
Here’s to more wins from Africa to the World. 💕
Congratulations #OnlineCohort19 Civic Leadership track with facilitator Ms Mtisunge Mngoli.
