☘ Let's start speaking about migration from the perspective of sustainability. This exercise requires a nuanced system of thinking and seeing intricate connections, between climate emergency, politics, and corporate activities. Let's add the power dynamics, history of colonisation, and geopolitics. ✈ However, human mobility has been and still is one of the main methods to adapt to the changing environment. It is also a symptom that the socio-ecological system is breaking down, especially, when we speak about forced migration due to violent conflicts, environmental disasters or widespread socio-economic instability. 🏫 Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) has organised this excellent session on #Migration in light of #ClimateEmergency. Here it showcases how #refugees can become the agents of change.

Earth Day may be over, but the conversation about #climatechange still remains relevant. That is why at Asante Africa Foundation, we prioritize empowering communities with climate change education rather than fostering a sense of hopelessness. This approach is particularly effective as the communities we serve have already taken numerous steps towards climate education.
