Gotion and its subsidiary, Hefei Guoxuan High-tech, based in Hefei, serve as significant growth engines, a term often used by the Chinese Communist Party. By 2020, Hefei had joined the ranks of cities with a GDP exceeding one trillion yuan, marking its entry into the 'Trillion GDP City Club.' Gotion plays a key role in the strategic emerging industry clusters identified by the Hefei Municipal Committee of the CCP. These clusters are part of the Hefei industrial sector and align with the broader initiative of integrating the Yangtze River Delta region. These clusters were promoted in the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China report: "Promote the development of integrated clusters of strategic emerging industries and build a number of new growth engines such as new generation information technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, and green environmental protection." The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced 45 advanced manufacturing clusters, of which 17 are in the Yangtze River Delta, accounting for 37.78% of the country's total. The Yangtze River Delta region, taking up only 4 percent of China's land area, contributes about 25% of China's total GDP. Hefei is ranked 4th in China in terms of number of selected clusters. In November 2018, President Xi Jinping declared the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta as a national strategy. A quote from the CCP in Hefei "To build a new energy automobile capital with world influence, Hefei is in full swing."
