There is an old adage that value is solely in the eyes of the customer. Regardless of how great you think your idea is, it is critical to engage customers and other stakeholders through the entire process, from validating your value proposition and doing your first pilots to landing customers and possibly investors. The feedback you get will lead to better design and outcomes. This session will cover connecting with customers and other stakeholders to validate your value and business model, obtain letters of support, and create the conditions for your idea to move from design to providing value to the world.

🌟 Unleashing Creative Paradigms with Guan Hin Tay : A Journey Through Collision 🌟 In an industry where innovation is the currency of success, the session on "Collision" with @Guan Hin Tay, Creative Chairman at BBDO, during our #IssuesInInteractiveAdvertising course, was a masterclass in creative disruption. Having navigated the advertising world for over eight years, I've seen my share of creative strategies, but Guan's "Collide" philosophy opened new avenues of thought I hadn't ventured into before. Guan's recent publication, "Collide," underscores the power of merging disparate concepts to forge groundbreaking ideas. The notion of selling an electric car with a narrative rooted in wasted gas station not only challenged our conventional thinking but also demonstrated the untapped potential of creative juxtaposition. During our interactions, Guan encouraged us to pitch unconventional ideas, pushing us to explore the boundaries of our creativity. My initial pitch, durex and disabled people, was met not with scepticism but with encouragement. Guan's affirmation of this approach as the epitome of "Collision" was both validating and inspiring. This course has been a crucible for creativity, urging us to think beyond the apparent and delve into the realm of the unexpected. Guan's challenges to embrace collision and break free from conventional thinking have not only honed my creative acumen but also instilled a renewed confidence to approach advertising tasks with an innovative mindset. The lessons learned from Guan Hin Tay are a testament to the transformative power of creative collision. As I forge ahead in my career, I am equipped with a new toolkit for ideation, one that champions the unconventional and celebrates the synthesis of opposing elements to create something truly novel. My deepest appreciation goes to Guan for illuminating the path to creative breakthroughs and to Pei Wen Wong for curating such an enriching learning experience.
