Our economy is heavily dependent on petrochemicals, but the sector receives far less attention than it deserves. Petrochemicals are one of the key blind spots in the global energy debate, especially given the influence they will exert on future energy trends. Petrochemical sustainability is increasingly vital in the sector, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency. Thanks Texas Chemistry Council and Texas Chemistry Alliance for the work you do. Sabrina Schwertner Caroline E. Payton Spreen

When our SPOTT team assesses companies’ public disclosure, we don’t just assess – we collaborate 🤝 Our initial assessment based on publicly available reports and publications is followed by the consultation period, where companies assessed have a unique opportunity to engage with our team to improve their public disclosures and provide feedback before the final review and publication on SPOTT. The 5th annual SPOTT assessment of leading natural rubber companies finds that companies that participated in the consultation period achieved higher average scores compared to their peers who didn’t engage. We encourage all companies within the soft commodities sector to seize this opportunity. Engage with the SPOTT team and utilise the consultation period to its fullest. This engagement doesn’t just reflect in scores; it symbolises a company's commitment to transparency and accountability. The Wall Street Journal featured an Op Ed from our Chairman, President & CEO Peter Huntsman addressing a critical issue: deindustrialization in Europe. The outsourcing of energy-intensive industries to regions with lenient regulations is not just an environmental concern; it's an economic one. As Peter says in the OpEd: “To believe differently is naive, dangerous, and detrimental to the environment. Serious people understand this reality and must speak out.“ Read the OpEd: https://ow.ly/4JLZ50Qrplp

Unfortunately not all data in EFRAG's taxonomies for sustainability can be tagged from the human readable text. Out of curiosity, I counted the tags in EFRAG (non-illustrative) InlineXBRL-samples that has been published together with the ESRS- and Article 8-taxonomies. I also counted the tags been hidden elements. Almost all of the hidden elements came from concepts using Extensible Enumerations 2.0. Below you will find the numbers. Is it good practice to use Extensible Enumerations 2.0 in XBRL-taxonomies intended for InlineXBRL?
