This International Women in Engineering Day, we are recognizing two of our longest-tenured engineers who have been instrumental in our journey. IPS celebrates 35 years in business this year, and we owe our success to the women in engineering who have driven progress, delivered innovation, and inspired excellence. Aileen Z. and WenLan Wilson, P.E., LEED AP BD+C set a remarkable example for future generations in the profession. Their passion for engineering and commitment to mentoring the next generation have made a profound impact on IPS and the industry. Thank you to all of the women in engineering at IPS! #INWED24 #INWED #IAmIPS #WomenInEngineering #EnhancedByEngineering

Breaking the Mould: The Importance of Women in Engineering 👷♀️ As we celebrate the achievements of women in engineering, it's essential to acknowledge the significant underrepresentation of women in this field. According to the UK's Engineering Council, in 2020, only 12.5% of the engineering workforce in the UK were female, compared to 45.2% in the overall workforce. Despite these numbers, women engineers are making a significant impact in the industry. They're driving innovation, solving complex problems, and pushing boundaries. But we need more of them. To highlight their achievements and inspire future generations, we launched our #ShesAnEngineer campaign. Join us as we share stories of trailblazing women engineers who have shattered stereotypes and overcome challenges to succeed in their careers. By amplifying their voices and celebrating their accomplishments, we hope to inspire more women to pursue careers in engineering and create a more inclusive and diverse industry. Learn more about our #ShesAnEngineer campaign and discover the incredible stories of women engineers who are making a difference: https://lnkd.in/gKra7z4A #ShesanEngineer #WomenInEngineering #WomenInSTEM

This Sunday, 23 June, is International Women in Engineering Day. It's a significant occasion to reflect on the contributions of women in engineering and to inspire future generations of female engineers. A 2022 report by Engineers Australia found that women make up 48 per cent of Australia’s workforce, yet account for just 13 per cent of the nation’s working engineers. This disparity highlights the importance of encouraging more women to pursue and thrive in engineering careers. To mark this day, we asked Director Nicole Armit, BEnvEng and Associate Katie Teyhan, BEng (Mech) to share their perspectives as women in engineering. Check out the video below to hear their responses and join us in celebrating the achievements and potential of women in engineering. #INWED24 #EnhancedByEngineering #CreatingOpportunities

Some of the strongest characters I know, and have worked with (in the Royal Navy and on this side of the fence), are women that have followed the engineering pathway. Whether that be Electrical, Mechanical, Weapons, Marine, Chemical... the list is endless, and each of them are key cogs in this machine. Check out the post below from the WRc Team, and give WRc Group a follow to learn more about what these ladies are up to, and how they are leading the charge for the future, through raising the bar in industry, and nurturing the next generation through STEM activities. #IWED2024 #WRc #STEM #EnhancedByEngineering

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? International Women's Day was proposed by Clara Zetkin in 1910, an advocate for women's rights, and was first celebrated in 1911. This very day aims to highlight and raise awareness on women's equality, and commemorate women's achievements globally. Being the world's first female engineer, Edith Clarke (1883 - 1959) braved herself amidst the prejudice she had faced in the early stages of her career, which includes not being able to find job as an engineer despite her great results achieved at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Having scaled great heights, she is now greatly known for her invention, the graphical calculator, a necessary tool for engineers! (Mcfadden, 2018) The world's technology is constantly and rapidly revolutionising, with an increasing number of women stepping into the technology world, making remarkable changes. Let us take this time to celebrate all the women who has impacted our daily lives, no matter their profession! 🦸♀️ Read more about a revolutionary technology, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐧, 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, here: https://lnkd.in/gXyMzTCj #IWD #technology #engineer #industrial #solutions
