We are delighted to have participated in this year's Staff Relay Series, an amazing event which took place on Thursday the 24th of May in Dublin's Phoenix Park. A very big well done to our 3 teams which represented I-RES on the day, with each of our competitors completing a 5km relay of the 25km total course, for an unforgettable and rewarding experience. The event itself is a great day out for all involved and we look forward to competing again in next year’s race already. #StaffRelaySeries #TeamBuilding #PhoenixPark

3 Things I Learned About Restructuring on the Run 🏃♂️ After running the Bridge to Brisbane, I realised how much running mirrors the work we do in restructuring: 1. Pace Yourself – In both running and restructuring, it’s about maintaining steady progress. Rushing leads to burnout, but a consistent pace gets results. 2. Expect the Unexpected – Just like unexpected hills in a race, restructuring is full of surprises. Flexibility and quick problem-solving are key to staying on track. 3. Endurance Matters – Whether it’s crossing the finish line or completing a complex engagement, long-term success is all about resilience and staying the course. #FTIconsulting #TeamFTI #Restructuring #BridgeToBrisbane #Leadership #Endurance #Learning
Congratulations to #teamFTI for completing the 10km course at the annual Bridge to Brisbane fun run last weekend! The sold-out event had over 35,000 participants and it was great to see everyone conquer the climbs over the Gateway and Inner City Bypass while setting some personal bests. Well done to Sam Dennis, Marco Bozzetto CPA, Nick Hawthorne, Kevin McCartney, Donn Ricardo Culalic, Matthew Glennon, Jess Harman GAICD, Kelly Trenfield, Hamish Horne and Julian Gowdie.

BIG NEWS The fog on the Tyne is all Lane7. The toon where it begun for my client Lane7 and the city I went to University. Anecdotally a nightclub that I went to the opening night of c 20 years ago….. Lane7 is Newcastle, a local hero and a boy that’s done good and is doubling up and bringing it to the city centre. There was competition on this one, but there is Bowling operators and then there is Lane7. Property is about relationships and memories, it’s an industry where it’s a marathon not a sprint and the adventures you have along the way, count when the chips are down. Simon Bashford at EYCO representing The Crown Estate was a champion, it’s the second deal I have done with EYCO with the Lane7 group having put Level X into St. Enoch Centre which has had a phenomenal impact on footfall, I expect the same here. Will Hodge and Michael Thomas at The Crown Estate were fantastic to deal with and I look forward to doing more. This one was special for many reasons; a city that is very close to my heart, where it all began for Lane7 and finally good friends involved, if Carlberg did agency deals this is up there. Lane7 owns the toon. We're starting the week with some BIG news: we're thrilled to announce that we'll be expanding in our hometown of Newcastle - howay the lads! 🎉 Following the immense success of our original Lane7 venue in the city, which opened in 2013, we're set to open not ONE, BUT TWO exciting new locations by the end of the year. Newcastle holds a special place in our heart as the city where we revolutionised the bowling market. Since opening our doors 11 years ago, we've earned a reputation as the ultimate destination for all of your best nights out in one. We're going to be opening a second venue at the Gate in the summer, as well as a brand new concept in the autumn; this venue will have a unique proposition that will be first not just for Newcastle, but for the UK. "Newcastle has always been our home, and we couldn't be more excited to continue our journey here," says our Founder, Tim Wilks. #lane7 #Newcastle #boutiquebowling #lane7bringsit #allyourbestnightsoutinone #expansion #competitivesocialising

Developing modern, vibrant, flexible Rotary to be part of our communities in the 21st Century
Starting a Rotary Satellite Club offers the additional benefits of expanding project possibilities, visibility, and the impact of Rotary in your community. As an example of how this model of Rotary club can work, Robert Lovick recently took a look at the Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club, a club that has maintained a presence in the local community through two satellite groups, for the latest edition of Rotary Digital. I help people build brighter futures with better thinking. Commercial and strategic people person whose methods lead to better return on investment , enjoyment and legacy. Speaker, author, trainer, facilitator, mentor.
I’ve been thinking about the bonds and connections created through #sharedexperience. On #ANZAC day, those serving or who have served in the armed forces gather today to reflect on their experiences and those who preceded them in various displays of commemoration. That bond of shared experience is on display to the public observers at dawn services, and centotaphs in capital and regional cities, in tiny towns and district halls and through our screens. Those observing together are also sharing an experience and creating a connection. Shared experiences come in all shapes and sizes. Many as mundane as travelling on the same school bus for six years or playing for the same footy and netball club or experiencing the generosity of special elders in your home town. Each is experience creates a bond and connection that ensures. Ever wonder why it’s so easy to pick up a conversation with a colleague or a school mate decades later- the bond of shared experience is the answer. Many studies have pondered and proved the mechanisms creating connection through shared experience including a recent one from Dartmouth College, Hannover, New Hampshire in the US which includes a review of previous studies (link in comments). ANZAC Day is also our wedding anniversary- 16 years ago we created a shared experience for those we cared about the most from our aging parents to our young nieces and nephews and our broad range of friends and family. It was also a pretty nice experience for us! This pondering got me thinking about how much I love creating the opportunity for others to connect or facilitating the opportunity that’s been created by others. Whether it’s organising drinks in our garden, a silly competition st the golf club or delivering a keynote in which the audience gets to share an experience, it truly is one of my favourite things. What shared experiences have created connection for you? How can you create opportunities for others to connect through shared experience? #connection #bonds #sharedexperience #groundedthinking
