CICC met with Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Italy On August 30th, Lorenzo Riccardi, Chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce CICC, visited the Milan office of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Italy and met with its Secretary General, Fan Xianwei. The meeting aimed to #enhance future #exchanges and #cooperation, with both parties expressing their #commitment to continuing #collaborative efforts to implement the three-year action #plan between China and Italy. They also exchanged #views on specific cooperation #initiatives between the two chambers of commerce. The #agreement signed by the two governments, the 'Action Plan for the Strengthening of the China-Italy Global Strategic Partnership (2024-2027)', includes specific support for the activities of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Italy. Dubai Chambers, China's CCPIT Tianjin sign MoU Dubai Chambers has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Tianjin Sub-council (CCPIT Tianjin). The agreement aims to support the expansion of Chinese investors into Dubai and assist them in establishing and growing their businesses in the emirate. It will also enhance the ability of companies operating in Dubai to enter the Chinese market and build promising business partnerships in Tianjin. Under the terms of the MoU, the two parties will cooperate to strengthen relationships between the business communities in Dubai and Tianjin, with the goal of stimulating the growth of trade and bilateral investments. How well do you understand mutual recognition agreements (MRAs)? Last week, the APEC Professional Services and Mutual Recognition Community of Practice met for its second session of 2024. The session explored the fundamentals of MRAs - understanding the basics of mutual recognition, what are MRAs and their regional application, and gave attendees the chance to engage directly with the professionals and policymakers who shape MRA creation and implementation. Key takeaways included highlighting the critical role of mutual recognition of professional services for enabling regional trade and investment, for upholding standards in professional services and the transformative potential of mutual recognition within APEC. These discussions covered pathways through the complexities and challenges across economies and sectors, emphasizing the continuing importance of collaboration and trust-building among stakeholders.
