President @ U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council & North American Blueberry Council | Growing profitable demand & Advocating for blueberry growers
This is a great sit down discussion with Amanda on how we are growing, listening and adapting to best serve a growing, diverse and ambitious group of stakeholders. Working together, united, we can accomplish way more than any individual company or growing region. Even the biggest companies… This was certainly a takeaway from our convention in Tucson. I love that U.S.H.B.C starts with, “US.” It is that “us,” approach that will help grow the category, drive profitable demand for our growers and ensure the value of blues remains high. With how much runway still lies ahead for blueberries (60% of today’s purchases, dollars, are made by 20% of blueberry buyers and we are under 49% of households 🤯), the focus and opportunity must remain on growing the (blueberry) pie, not just fighting for the slice. Meeting together as an industry is key to helping remain focused and realizing these many opportunities still ahead for our growers. Join us in Denver! https://lnkd.in/g3dzMPPP Go blueberries! 🫐👊🏼🫐
The Industry Feedback from the 2024 Blueberry Convention delivers unique insights into the evolving landscape of the blueberry sector. In this episode of "The Business of Blueberries," host Kasey Cronquist, president of the USHBC/NABC, is joined by Amanda Griffin, CMP, IOM, vice president of engagement and education at U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council and North American Blueberry Council. “The change is we are going to smush over the convention to the fall and essentially take away the summit, and have one large event in the fall called The Blueberry Convention. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the end of the season, gather everybody together, and that is where we will grow the trade show floor to have more expansive education offerings and more opportunities for folks to gather and to meet,” said Amanda Griffin vice president of engagement and education at USHBC and NABC. #GoBlueberries #InspiringPossibilities #TheBusinessofBlueberriesPodcast https://lnkd.in/gTskHY8D

Today, I had the privilege of attending KML's Top 30 Under 30 Summit. Thank you The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto and Sam for giving me and my colleagues this opportunity. And congratulations to Aaron for the well-deserved award! We're so proud of you! 🎉 I arrived already expecting to learn, but the panel sessions far exceeded my expectations. I'm excited to share my key takeaways: 📝"Diversity" extends beyond race, age, and gender orientation to include learning abilities. Most people who work in FOH are experiential learners, retaining information better through hands-on experience. Training should be tailored accordingly, rather than relying solely on PowerPoint slides or written materials. 📝Encourage every associate to collaborate and contribute to changes; give them a sense of purpose. 📝When hiring, shift the focus from "Will they stay?" to "How do we retain them?"; what we should be looking for, especially in the service industry, is Authenticity. 📝Going Green— This shouldn't mean taking away amenities or putting the burden on the guests in any way, it means offering an alternative. 📝Pre-Shifts— the hallmark of service excellence; setting the mood for associates and keeping them informed impacts guest's experiences more than you think.
So excited to be at the KML Top 30 - Under - 30 Summit with members of The Westin Harbour Castle, celebrating our award winner Aaron Foster! Congratulations to all 30 Next Gen Trailblazers and to the various panel members for sharing their invaluable insights into a variety of timely topics!

Two weeks have passed since the B Corp Cork event on June 13th, and we've been reflecting on its success and impact. The event, co-hosted by Otonomee, Change by Degrees, Climeaction, and B Lab Ireland, took place at The Dean Hotel and served as an exciting platform for innovation in the Irish business community. We are thankful to everyone who attended and helped make our vision of Raising the Collective Ambition in the Room a reality. The event was packed with insightful discussion and shared enthusiasm, highlighting the growing momentum of the B Corp movement in Ireland. James McManus spoke passionately about the workings, accomplishments, and significance of B Corps. Marcello Palazzi inspired us to step up our ambitions and engage with B Corps on a global scale. Numerous companies from various sectors, sizes, and stages of maturity shared their sustainability journeys, reinforcing our shared commitment to positive change. After two weeks of reflection, we can highlight a few key takeaways from the day: ◾ Companies are expanding their definition of stakeholders to include workers, customers, communities, and the environment. ◾ Being a certified B Corp is a marker of good business, showcasing awareness and solutions for societal and business challenges. ◾ It’s not enough to get your own house in order; responsible businesses make a difference by supporting others on their journey. ◾ Purpose-driven and sustainable businesses are setting themselves apart and succeeding commercially and financially. ◾ B Corps take pride in ensuring their products, practices, and profits do no harm and benefit all. The success of this event has set the stage for more exciting initiatives. Stay tuned for upcoming events, possibly later this year! Together, we are making strides toward a more sustainable future. #BCorp #BCorpCork #BusinessForGood #ResponsibleCorporates Cully & Sully Limited Gaia Talent OPTEL Group Merck Group Barry Group. Lovely afternoon Stanbrook Abbey at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Leaders Summer BBQ. Bridget Robinson and I had a very interesting conversation about all things logistical with Tony Seifas. 💡A topic that keeps coming up in college and business discussions is the dress code. How important do you think it is to dress appropriately for an interview or in the workplace? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this! #DressCode #WorkplaceAttire #Professionalism #InterviewTips #BusinessEtiquette #HWChamber
A lovely afternoon spent with Jodie Taylor Grimshaw representing Heart of Worcestershire College at Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Leaders Summer BBQ. Catch ups with Jo Murphy and Coralie Hudson and new connections with Tony Seifas was the order of the day at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel. Thank you Yasmin Bent, Robert Elliot, Olivia Williams and Sharon Smith for another great event.
