It's been 20 years since the first three #Eurofighter arrived at Morón air base in Seville, Spain. The fighters of the 11th Wing of the Spanish Air and Space Force are an example of national sovereignty and technological superiority. They have demonstrated this throughout these years, both on Spanish territory and in international missions. Since 2015, the Eurofighters of the 11th Wing have participated in 5 NATO Air Policing missions, protecting the Eastern Flank, both in the Baltic countries and in the Balkans. The pilots deployed to these missions have passed through the Eurofighter Training Center (ETC) of Morón Air Base that is proof of successful collaboration between the Ejército del Aire y del Espacio and the industry, led by Airbus Defence and Space. In this model, industrial companies engage in the initial and advanced training of pilots, as well as in ground instruction of training squadron pilots. The use of simulators in the ETC makes training fighter pilots not only safer but also more economical, and more sustainable. ALIA, the all-electric aircraft from BETA Technologies, carried out a casualty evacuation exercise at Eglin Air Force Base on January 11. The less-than-10-minute process marked the first time the ALIA, a conventional take-off and landing aircraft, flew with and communicated directly with United States Air Force aircraft for a mission as well as completed a live-casualty evacuation scenario. The objective of the exercise and BETA’s deployment was to assess the ALIA’s ability and performance in specific military scenarios. “During these exercises, the goal is to augment the existing fleet with additional low-cost assets to assist in mission execution so battlefield aircraft can stay in the fight,” said Maj. Riley Livermore, 413th Flight Test Squadron Futures Flight commander. The HH-60W aircraft that participated in the exercise, was one of the first new combat search and rescue helicopters to arrive at the unit during its developmental test and evaluation phase in 2020. Forsvaret - Norwegian Armed Forces is deploying four of is Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets to Iceland providing an interceptor capability for NATO’s air surveillance mission in Iceland. As of January 15, four F-35 fighter aircraft are scheduled to fly NATO Air Policing sorties out of Keflavík Air Base, Iceland, until mid-February. This is the fourth time Norway deploys their fifth-generation jets to this mission. The Norwegian detachment conducts the first of three Allied fighter deployments to Iceland scheduled in 2024. Two Norwegian F-35s at Keflavík will be on stand-by 24/7 ready to scramble to safeguard NATO and international airspace near Iceland. Sorties will include training and alert scrambles e.g. to identify unknown aircraft as a legitimate response to maintain territorial integrity of the NATO Ally in the High North. The European F-16 Training Center, organized by Romania, the Netherlands, and Lockheed Martin through several subcontractors, officially opened on 13 November 2023. It is located at the Romanian Air Force's 86th Air Base, and Ukrainian pilots did start training there in early 2024. And an obvious problem which Adib and Barry have long pointed out_Clearly Ukraine can not base and defend the F16s in country as witnessed by the above announcement. IfI were making the Decision I would create a random Round Robin Temporary Scenario similar to standard USAF Practiv ce for our Strategic Bomber Fleet_ Ukranian Jets would Fly into and from Several NATO Locations with Ukranian colors always refueling immediately on Ukranian Soil staying inside Ukranian Borders within 500 mile op.range on.missions..then return somewhere outside Ukranian Airspaace. All F-16s in most European air forces are equipped with drag chutes specifically to allow them to operate from automobile highways. Obviously much risk here but potential to control if both sides choose to play along with Plausible Deniability.

Royal Air Force (RAF) F-35B jets from 617 Squadron, Marham, United Kingdom, have deployed to Iceland to commence NATO's Air Policing mission. This is the first time British F-35s will have taken part in any NATO air policing mission. The F-35Bs will defend NATO airspace in the Arctic Region and provide Airborne Surveillance and Interception Capabilities to meet Iceland's Peacetime Preparedness Needs – or ASIC IPPN. The last deployment for British jets in Iceland was 2019, when four Typhoon jets flew 59 training sorties and more than 180 practice intercepts. The F-35 Lightning is held at high readiness to deploy in support of UK and NATO operations worldwide – from both land and sea. It is a multi-role combat aircraft equipped with advanced sensors, mission systems and low observable stealth technology. This means that enemy radar systems cannot easily detect the aircraft, giving those nations operating the F-35 a significant tactical advantage in many operational scenarios.
