A medical TBT worth reflecting on: INAUGURAL JKUMREC SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE Held on 21st Oct,2022 One good reflection that just popped up on my feeds. This wasn't just an event I did attend in My second year of studies ,but a pivotal event in my career life. It shaped by medical Research opportunities outlook and spark the urge from the inside. It honed my skills of observation,layered learning and career development in with an edge I had never thought of. In the event the seasoned medical practitioners from different sectors challenged us to tackle Antimicrobial Resistance trends so innovatively in a patient and society centred approach,Data Analytics that informs global based healthcare systems,IT machinery and Artificial intelligence transforming the medical practice, Clinical Practice as well Managing complex tasks in the industry. Not exhausting all,was also an entrepreneurial approach to help the medical graduates who continually get churned out of institutions of higher learning to have an eye for Entrepreneurship that gears towards creating more employment opportunities for themselves and the youthful population alike. I can't reflect it all am but glad the above are still imprinted in my memory towards the culmination of my studies. Medical Research, Diagnostics and healthcare-patient centred interventions spiced up by Leadership that transforms systems are still my focus and piece of cake! #PumpPriming for Collaboration between UK and EU Partners 2024 https://lnkd.in/eNFRM7Vn The The British Academy, with the support of the The Royal Society, the The Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Royal Academy of Engineering, are inviting proposals from #UK and #EU/Associated Countries-based #researchers to pump prime collaborations provided by the UK’s association to #HorizonEurope. ELIGIBILITY Each project will be led by a named PI. The PI must be a researcher from an eligible UK-based organisation. Proposals that involve working closely with UK SMEs are strongly encouraged. Open to all disciplines – #engineering, #naturalsciences, #medical and #healthsciences, #humanities, and #socialsciences. The call is focused solely on Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe – Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness. Applications must identify a call and topic in Pillar 2 that they will specifically target to apply to on the back of this pump priming funding. FUNDING The British Academy are able to offer awards of up to £10,000. Awards will be required to provide further reporting on their award, including in relation to the outcome of their application to Horizon Europe. Funding may be used to support costs for concept or proof of market work and proposal development, costs of meetings, travel and subsistence, research/clerical assistance (based in the UK or internationally), due diligence work on partners, costs towards child or parent care, and contributions towards support services such as proposal writing. APPLICATION PROCESS  Assessment will be undertaken over two rounds with applications submitted by 17 January 2024, 17.00 (UK time) considered initially, and then a second deadline (if funding remains available) of 21 February 2024, 17.00 (UK time). If there is a high number of applications submitted before the 17 January 2024 deadline, the Academy reserves the right to begin assessment prior to the formal deadline. From the outside, CDTM is this prestigious community, offering access to top universities like Stanford and Harvard and producing successful startups like Trade Republic and Personio. Spending more time at this place will make you realize it is rather all about the community. I haven't spent so much time working with great & smart people in a long time, but I also had so many evenings and experiences creating memories that will last a lifetime. Regardless of your background in studies or as a person, you will be confronted with different (in all possible ways) people. It will challenge some of your beliefs/perspectives and also provide you with much inspiration. Suppose you are interested in innovation and improving some of the many problems in clinical reality. In that case, the CDTM is the right place to find the missing pieces of your medical studies with mentors, partners, education, and especially friends for your journey.
