Today I am celebrating 10 years at White Lodging, and I thought I would share my thoughts of 10 reasons I am thankful for the past 10 years.    1. White Lodging accepts me for me & allow me to be my authentic self.  2. I am seen for who I am & what I bring; they recognize my value & my worth. 3.  I am surrounded by amazing people that help me to be the best version of me every day. They push me & challenge me in a way that is wonderful! 4.  Gallup calls it a Q10, a best friend work. I have Q10’s in every market. When I think of them, I smile. White Lodging brought us together! 5. They invested in my development, in ME. More than anyone has ever done. 6. I have the most incredible team I work with. People I not only enjoy working with & respect, but I genuinely like & care for & in turn they care for me. 7. Did you know I sought out WL? I did. I was hoping they would swipe right too, & they did. Because of their involvement in the community & the good they did I WANTED to be a part of that. I had to.  8. I am inspired to do good be good & pay it forward every single day. 9. Culture - how do you define the culture of a company? It is not easy, is it? I can tell you this…I am home. WL is my home away from home.  10. The people, hands down. Every interaction I have, every leadership class I lead, I am in awe. I am inspired, they amaze me. They make me want to be better; & not for me. For them. Every person I have had the privilege of crossing paths with is an absolute gift. I thought today was a great day to share this.   Do what you love and love what you do. I get to do that. Every day. Today was the perfect day to pause, reflect & share that. I wish this for all of you, as well! How do we showcase success? I recently had a conversation with hospitality maven Jaime Simpson around her work with Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts. 🚀 Reflecting on My Journey: From Collecting Glasses to Area Support 🚀 In 2010, I started my career in hospitality by collecting glasses—a role often seen as entry-level but essential. Fast forward to 2014, and I found myself in the role of Manager and Area Support. 🌟 The climb was steep, but it taught me invaluable lessons about hard work, perseverance, and leadership. Even as Area Support, I never shied away from getting my hands dirty and jumping into the action. 💪 Recently, I found a picture that beautifully captures my progression. It’s a reminder of the journey and the dedication it took to get here. 📸 Throughout my journey, I traveled up and down the UK to achieve my goals. Along the way, I met some truly amazing people who have become lifelong connections. I'm grateful to still be in touch with many of them today. 🤝 I firmly believe in leading from the front and growing those around me. Always Give Your 100% Referring to hospitality industry you never know whom you will be encountering as the guests may include General managers, Directors, etc. It is always advised to give your 100% at work whether it may be serving him in the lounge or assisting him at the check in process. Every guest interaction is an opportunity to shine and potentially advance your career. Paying attention to detail is crucial just like the guy making every effort to make the glass look spotless which certainly catches the attention of the gentleman.
