Any King Air pilots want to share their thoughts on this accident? Since it was a military operation the public will probably not learn from this investigation. The following is an excerpt from the Aviation Safety Network. https://lnkd.in/eibA2crY The aircraft was operated on a mission that consisted of a multi-day cross country training and familiarization trip with three military aircrew members onboard. The accident happened on the first segment of the mission. The crew was cleared for the RNAV Z 25 instrument approach into the Thunder Bay Airport. The weather consisted of light winds and good visibility, with a ceiling at 2200 ft AGL. The approach proceeded normally and as the aircraft crossed through 600 ft AGL, the Pilot Flying elected to disconnect the autopilot and continue under manual control. Shortly after the aircraft crossed over the threshold of runway 25, the flying pilot reduced the two power levers to the idle position for landing. The aircraft experienced a yaw to the left and a significant drop of the left wing. The crew initiated an overshoot, however the aircraft continued to descend and the left wing impacted the runway surface. The aircraft progressed off the runway onto the snow-covered infield. After the aircraft came to rest, the crew conducted an emergency shut down and exited the aircraft. #Ukrainian pilots are currently continuing their training to fly modern F-16 fighters. Two groups of our pilots are already honing their skills on these aircraft. The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Illia Yevlash, said this on the air of the telethon, Censor.NET informs with reference to RBC-Ukraine. "Now two advanced groups are in #Denmark and the #USA. They are already directly honing their skills on F-16 aircraft," said Illia #Yevlash. He noted that another group continues its training, it moved from Great #Britain to #France, where pilots master light-engine aircraft. "Another group is undergoing training in ground training in #England. In particular, they are learning the language, this is one of the priority areas. Foreign-made aircraft and proper knowledge of the #English language is necessary," added the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, in addition to pilots, the training of technical personnel is ongoing, so that in the future these specialists will already train their colleagues in Ukraine. The National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) two-day investigative hearing into the Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 door plug blowout on January 5, 2024, began on August 6, 2024. While by no means the conclusion of the NTSB’s investigation into the accident, the hearing does represent a seminal moment in one of aviation’s most challenging events of recent times. On August 5, 2024, the NTSB provided more details about the witnesses that will appear which include executives and representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems. New FAA rule would see non-US aircraft mechanics tested for drugs and alcohol A union in the United States (US) has thrown its weight behind a new rule proposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to test overseas aircraft mechanics for drugs and alcohol. Under the new rule, certificated repair stations located outside the US, whose staff carry out ‘safety-sensitive maintenance functions’ on certain air carrier aircraft, would be required to implement a drug and alcohol testing program. According to the FAA, few countries require testing of aviation or maintenance personnel. Read more at: https://lnkd.in/gNtnfk38 #AviationTalk #aviationnews #FAA #avgeek #aviation

What happens in the cabin when we're on route to a patient? All crew onboard are prioritising communication - for the NSW Ambulance Critical Care Paramedic and Doctor it is about coordinating with ground teams on the location and condition of the patient as well as assessing critical medical information so they can prepare for the retrieval. For the Pilot and the Aircrew Officer, it is about navigating the flight path, assessing aircraft performance and evaluating potential landing sites with the information they have been briefed. As a team, they ensure every detail is covered for a safe and efficient retrieval of the patient, approaching every mission with a synchronised effort of communication, teamwork and readiness.
