As we begin South Asian Heritage Month today, colleagues from JLR have kicked it off by visiting three local schools in the West Midlands to mark and celebrate South Asian cultures and communities. This year’s theme ‘Free to Be me’ provided a powerful platform to encourage pupils to embrace their unique identities whilst appreciating other cultures. This impactful launch reached over 1500 people including pupils, parents and teachers. It was also a wonderful opportunity to inspire our next generation of engineers. Through a series of engaging workshops, 450 pupils learned more about JLR’s approach to manufacturing vehicles and our core objective which focuses on product innovation that meets the desires and needs of our clients. The team spent time with the children and proudly displayed a specially wrapped South Asian Heritage Month Range Rover Range Rover Velar. Gary Gentle, Headteacher of Bilston C of E Primary School in Wolverhampton said: "Children and teachers alike were thrilled to have JLR attend our school, helping us all to learn more about South Asian Heritage Month and their luxury vehicles was exciting. A huge thank you to colleagues from JLR who have inspired the next generation of future engineers." This school engagement is part of JLR's wider commitment to have a positive social impact on the communities we serve and the world. #SouthAsianHeritageMonth #SAHM
