More good manufacturing news coming out of Huntsville! Raytheon, and their parent company RTX, just announced a $𝟏𝟏𝟓𝐦𝐦 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 to their Huntsville facility. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝟏𝟖𝟓 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬 (on top of their already +/- 2,000 AL based employees). Getting ahead of my skis here, but sounds like this expansion will be for the Glide Phase Interceptor, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. Governor Ivey said "Some people call it the ‘Rocket City,’ I’ll raise that and say: the brightest minds in aerospace and defense call it home." Given that Huntsville employees have figured out how to develop the above missile, I completely agree. Roll tide Huntsville.
