Everyone has setbacks on their fitness journey and It is important to remember that setbacks are normal and that they do not mean that you have failed. 💪 Here are a few tips we give to members for staying motivated at Club 300 even when things get tough 👇 🔴 Remind yourself why you started your fitness journey. What are your goals? What do you hope to achieve? 🔴 Celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem. Every step forward is progress. 🔴 Don't be afraid to ask for help. Reach out to our personal trainers who can create the structure and accountability you might be needing. At the club we have strength and fitness testing every 8 weeks to ensure members can be kept accountable. It’s important within this to also remind them that progress isn’t linear and that PB’s should be tough to beat! The enjoyment should be within the journey as much as the destination. 🙌 Don't give up on your fitness journey. Just keep going and you will eventually reach your goals if you ask the right questions and take action.

Hey Busy Dad, You Should Feel Better After a Workout - Not Worse Scroll through exercise websites and you’ll find a lot of articles promoting super high intensity workouts. In a nutshell, these articles are often suggesting that you’ll get the most benefit from your workout if you do nearly all exercises to muscle failure and make you think that it’s only a good workout if you’re unable to move by the end. For busy dads, there’s a better way to approach workouts. Constantly pushing yourself to exhaustion will likely lead to less frequent workouts, or injury, or overtraining - or all of the above. Any of which will lead to a decrease in fitness instead of an increase. Remember: Fatigue does not equal fitness. How do you know if you’re striking the right balance? YOU SHOULD FEEL BETTER AFTER A WORKOUT - NOT WORSE. This doesn’t mean you don’t ever push yourself or feel a little tired. That said, regularly leaving a little extra in the tank allows you to: * Workout more regularly (and consistency is really the key to fitness) * Reduces risk of injury * And keeps you more fresh for the next workout as well as whatever life throws at you And all of these lead to improved fitness and results in the long term. If you are a guy 40+ who has not had luck reaching your health and fitness goals here are four items you should look for in a fitness program: 1) You need to have a program designed for guys over 40, our bodies have changed. You can’t train like your in your 20’s anymore. 2) The focus of your training should be on how you feel and move. It doesn’t mean you’re training like a 90-year-old, it means you want more strength and control through all the movements you want to do in Life, sports, and activities. 3) You’re going to have to train more components. Almost every guy I’ve screened needs mobility work and it’s way more important than you think. 4) Since you’re busy, and you have more components you need to Work on, you want your training to be very efficient & effective for max return on investment. I advise full body Strength workouts, alternating Exercises to keep your heart rate up using an interval timer.
