🌟 I presented Шанса за Центар and my work as a municipal council member at the NDI Event: Participatory and Deliberative Democracy on Building inclusive democracy and mainstreaming participation 🌟 Profound reminder of how inclusive participation strengthens our democratic fabric. We are living backsliding in democracy on central level in many countries so resilience on local level and protecting democratic values is of outmost importance! We discussed *Mainstreaming Participation: Building Ecosystems of Democratic Innovation*. It was an inspiring discussion where we shared and exchanged ideas on democracy and the critical importance of empowering citizens from various groups, age, backgrounds, vulnerability or marginalized to actively participate in decision-making processes. Many benefits of diverse ecosystems of Democratic Innovation as interconnected processes and dynamic interactions can foster trust, dialogue, justice, and equality. @шансазацентар is committed to supporting democratic processes at local level in our city and we are pleased to share these values and experiences. Always excited to strengthen our relationships with like-minded organizations and passionate individuals from around the world. Here's to building a more inclusive and participatory democracy together! ✊🌍 #NDI #PeoplePowered #ndipddworkshopwarsaw #DemocraticInnovation #Empowerment #Inclusion #Participation #Ecosystem #Justice #Equality

🌐 Happy International Day of Democracy! 🌐 As we reflect on this day, let's remember that democracy is a system that thrives on the voices, rights, and active participation of all citizens. Democracy is not just about casting votes; it's about fostering an inclusive society where every individual has the opportunity to contribute, express their views, and shape the future. In a world where democratic values are being challenged, it's crucial to remind ourselves of the power that lies in unity, dialogue, and mutual respect. Democracy is the bridge that connects diverse perspectives, enabling us to find common ground and work towards a more just and equitable world. Let's continue to nurture and protect democracy, ensuring it remains a beacon of hope and progress for future generations. #InternationalDayOfDemocracy #Democracy2024 #CivicEngagement #Inclusion #HumanRights #VoiceMatters

I proudly acknowledge the United Nations' (UN) Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (the Declaration), an international human rights framework which recognises and protects the unique and collective rights of Indigenous peoples across the world. In the Australian context, this instrument relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People’s rights. On this important week of reflection, National Reconciliation Week 2024 (NRW2024), I also acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and I pay my respects to Elders past and present, as well as to all Indigenous Peoples for the courage that you demonstrate in pursuing equality. The #NRW2024 theme, "Now More Than Ever", prompts me to continue to listen first and act second. It is through truth-telling yarns, empathy and bravery, that I will continue to learn about what Elders and communities, desire and need. From respect to engagement, and beyond to unity and sustainable social equity, that is what I strive to achieve between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples. In this era of heightened global conflict, I also reflect on the devastating outcomes in the Ukraine and Israel - both born from a lack of unity, a lack of humanity and a lack of civil rights. Surely, I can turn my powerlessness into action. Surely, I can do better to truly hear local Indigenous Peoples' stories and empower others to make the step changes that are needed to advance unity. "Now more than ever" we need reconciliation. Reconciliation Australia (RA) have done an extraordinary job of providing resources to raise awareness about one of the oldest cultures in the world and the importance of reconciliation. This is happening now. We need data about #AANHPI communities, and it begins with how data is collected. There is power in coming together as a collective voice. The AANHPI communities are diverse, and inclusivity is not just a catchphrase. We are building an economy where everyone gets a fair share. We must incorporate more #AANHPI and our allies' voices at the table to create policies that are fair for all. https://lnkd.in/g3uhj-qg #DeaggregationOfData #AANHPICommunities #Inclusion #DataIntegrity #WeWantEquity

My article titled "Lensing Ethiopia’s National Dialogue Through Inclusiveness" is online published by the East African Review. It stresses the importance of inclusiveness of different stakeholders from the inception to the consecutive stages, when a given national dialogue is proposed, and contextualizes the principle of inclusion with the ongoing Ethiopia's dialogue. You are invited to read my perspective on the matter and reflect on it. 👇 https://lnkd.in/eB77Kwqs
