AI in fashion. Shein. We have been paying very close attention to SHEIN in our quest to find the most advanced #AI in #fashion, even before events with the #IPO on London Stock Exchange started to develop. As it seems, Shein is already worth more than adidas, yet Adidas was founded in 1949 and Shein in 2008. So, how did they grow so fast? One reason is certainly a hard-working #entrepreneur with exceptional execution capabilities, who somehow manages to avoid all the media distraction as well. There are surely numerous other reasons that could be explored in great detail, but one of the more important ones is certainly AI. Given all the app downloads, gamification, and content discovery algorithms, I believe Shein should be actually considered more of a tech than a fashion company. While this might seem less obvious at first sight, that is probably why they need more capital, to be able to expand more into that domain, anyway. Also, whenever we speak about hyper-personalisation of something these days, which we often do in the case of Shein, in association with the new category of ultra-fast fashion that they have started, we are speaking about some sort of AI.
