As Promised: ⬇ ⬇ A follow up to my last post 🍋 When you think of fundraising it's a lot of work but when it's for a very special cause that you have passion for, it becomes priority to get it done, even if it's embarrassing. My son, begged me to raise money for Chai Lifeline. Usually, how do you fundraise? Door to Door 🚪, however we brain stormed with my son and came up with a a NEW strategy" Lemonade fresh smoothies 🍋 🍋 🥤 (Water, sugar, ice, fresh squeezed lemon) Very simple but delicious. This was not a thought out plan: 3:00PM: Bought ingredients 3:15PM: Started the process, was a lot of lemons 3:45PM: sent out messages to all groups and posted flyer with all info 4:15-5:15PM we sold more than 25x cups of 🍋 There were times the boys were ready to give up: "None coming" "This is stupid" "What's the point" I replied " At times there will be business and customers and at other times there will be slow business, keep at it" Towards the end, there was a man with 3 daughters that came with $6 and said "keep the change" he also requested the website so he can donate. Many of you ask me to write grants for your organizations. I have to turn a lot of organizations away because they lack a plan, and ultimately do not prioritize accordingly. Funders want to see sustainable systems in place. With that being said need help generating revenue outside of grants look into Not Just Fundrasing.

Tips for throwing an Ecofriendly Super Bowl party: 1) Shout out to New Belgium, which happens to be located here in Colorado. Not only do they have some cool beers (IPAs) their brewery is wind powered. 2) Consider some vegetarian (or local farm to table) recipes 3) Make a charitable donation- maybe a portion of the "Super Bowl squares" can go to an organization that's doing important work 4) Use "real" plates/ cutlery/ cups rather than paper products 5) Encourage guests to carpool (especially with a designated driver) 6) Don't waste leftovers/ recycle 7) Buy beverages in bulk (ie hit up Costco or Sam's Club)
