While the reopening of the port is a positive development, we must not forget the importance of robust infrastructure maintenance and the need for continuous investment in safety measures to prevent such events in the future. 📌 𝗝𝗕𝗙 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 - 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 Hugo Perez, PMP Past experiences with similar large-scale recovery operations often show that initial estimates can be overly optimistic, leading to delays and extended timelines. This time, however, authorities managed to come close to the end of May estimated date. The successful restoration of full access to the port within a bit over two months highlights the effectiveness of the coordinated efforts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Navy Supervisor of Salvage and Diving, and the multitude of federal, state, and local agencies. Clearing 50,000 tons of debris is no small feat, and the dedication of over 1,500 responders and 500 specialists made it an impressive operation.
