Refugees need solutions: 1. A fresh start in safety, 2. Quality Housing, 3. Quality Healthcare, 4. Livelihoods, 5. Peace, 6. Solidarity.
The solution that refugees want the most? It’s no secret. They want to go home. When your home is a warzone, that’s simply not possible. Until peace returns, they need opportunities to be active members of the communities that have welcomed them. #WorldRefugeeDay

Chief Executive Officer- Act for Peace, Chairperson, Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland and 2019 Queensland Local Hero of the Year
According to UNHCR, “more than 114 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes, due to conflict, persecution and human rights violations. Children account for 30% of the world’s population but comprise 40% of all forcibly displaced people”. With staggering numbers, our humanity is calling for us to be more compassionate. It is our collective responsibility as people blessed with God’s compassion to extend our hands to those who need our compassion and kindness at this critical time. Act for Peace supports people uprooted by conflict and disasters globally and with the growing unprecedented demand for our programs, financial support is required. Students across many schools in Australia are walking in the shoes of children displaced by conflict and disasters. Make your school counts and gives your students experience at our Ration Challenge Schools events. Act for Peace
How do you think the young people in your life would go, surviving off refugee rations for a week? Students around the country will step into refugees' shoes during World Refugee Week 18-24 June in our Ration Challenge Schools program. Read more below. We are often asked about prioritization decisions in the context of shrinking humanitarian aid. These are good questions, and like all results-driven organizations, we want every dollar to achieve the maximum difference. We prioritize more effective and more impactful interventions. We catalyze and mobilize others. And we partner strategically so we don’t have to shoulder the efforts alone. This is quite different to making heartbreaking painful decisions about cutting support to vulnerable families and individuals—it is not prioritization for good programmatic reasons and to drive more impact but choices in the face of immense pressure and difficult circumstances.
