📣 Exciting news! Accountability Lab Nepal has partnered with the ERCAS - European Research Centre for Anti-Corruption and State-Building for the 2024 update of the Transparency Index (T-Index). Learn more here: https://bit.ly/4cIIdXn. The T-Index is a vital tool that evaluates both the legal and operational transparency of governments through its de jure and de facto components. It highlights gaps in transparency policy implementation and enables cross-country comparisons. This comprehensive view helps define best practices and create roadmaps for effective transparency policies. The T-Index relies on contributions from public agencies, civil society organizations, and individuals. Their feedback, received through a crowdsourcing process, helps monitor the state of public transparency in the 143 countries evaluated by the tool. Following the 2023 global report publication (https://bit.ly/4cGp1cE), which involved over 60 public and private institutions, an updated version of the T-Index will be released in the second half of this year. Narayan Adhikari, Accountability Lab Nepal Country Director, will steer the process in Southeast Asia and the Pacific, connecting and engaging with contributors from all over the region. 📣 Contributions are needed to make this year's T-Index a success! ➡️ Public agencies, civil society organizations, and individuals are all invited to provide feedback through the online form here: https://bit.ly/3Sdawor or by contacting adhikari@corruptionrisk.org. ➡️ To facilitate contributions, a questionnaire is available at the end of the T-Index methodology page for feedback submission. Contributions will be received during July and August 2024 and will be acknowledged here: https://bit.ly/46b63ID

This week, I'm in #Egypt to participate in the 3rd Africa Health ExCon held in Cairo. Prior to the main conference, I engaged in discussions with key Egyptian officials, including Major General Dr. Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Chairman of the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority (UPA). We have reached an agreement to capitalize on Egypt's extensive experience in unified procurement practices and collaborate on a proof-of-concept that can serve as a model for other African nations. Additionally, we explored the roadmap for establishing an effective Africa Pooled Procurement Mechanism for health products, aimed at benefiting all member states across the continent. It's been decided that the upcoming Africa Health ExCon will be co-hosted by Africa CDC and UPA. #HealthInnovation #PartnershipGoals #AfricaHealthExCon
