🌳🌳Brigadoon and Huron Park 🌳🌳 Brigadoon and Huron Park are two popular communities in southwest Kitchener, bordered by Bleams, Fischer Hallman, and Pioneer Park to the east. They offer easy access to the 401 via Homer Watson, making them great for commuters, though public transit can be slow due to the area's southern location. Brigadoon is older, with homes dating back to the late 60s, though development has continued into recent years. The area is mostly detached homes, with lot sizes varying based on the age of the property. Huron Park, once an industrial area, began residential development along Huron Rd. in the 2000s. It features newer single-detached homes, along with townhomes and condos, with the Huron Natural Area acting as a beautiful green space between residential and commercial sections. While grocery options are nearby, none are located within the neighbourhoods themselves. Schools are available, but newer developments might require checking catchment areas, as kids may attend more distant schools until new ones are built. Nature is a big draw here, with Huron Natural Area, McLennan Park, and Homer Watson Park all nearby. The Activa Sportsplex is great for active families, and shopping can be found at Williamsburg and Sunrise Centre. Golfers will appreciate the proximity to Doon Valley. Time flies. It doesn’t feel like that long ago that I was helping El Dorado County finish up their lease and remodel of 768 Pleasant Valley Drive in Diamond Springs. Just shy of 11 years later, I am fortunate to have helped them renew their 14,000 square foot lease for Health and Human Services for 10 years. This renewal will economically benefit the County with favorable lease terms and tenant improvements that will positively impact their use of the space over the next 10 years - and in a beautiful building (which are tougher to come by than you think in El Dorado County).
