Jeff Wickersham’s Post

Dads, give me 2 minutes and it will change the relationship with your children forever, just read below. Here’s some numbers to drive my point home. By age 12, you will have spent 75% of the time you will get with your kids.. By age 18, you will have spent 95% of the time you will get with your kids in your lifetime. Time is fleeting. Time is gone in an instant if we’re not intentional. The micro moments will be gone before we know it as dads. This picture was the last time I ever coached one of my sons in football at our home field. My son Carter and I sat on the bench looking at the empty field, crying… We were filled with deep emotion because for years, we gave everything we had to each other and made memories that will last a lifetime. And it was gone. Dads, this is your future. We can’t stop it but… We can change the journey. We can change the journey through action. We can write the history and memories we want by stepping into the greatest version of ourselves. It takes only ONE DAD to change his family tree forever. That’s what we do in The Warrior Dad Experience. We intentionally pour into our kids, ourselves and our spouses daily. There is no greater calling as dads to lead your family. Your kids and your legacy is waiting. Will you answer that call? Will you answer that voice that whispers to you and never goes away? The time to act is now. Dare to be uncommon. Love, lead, legacy. Create a legendary day! 🔥 P.S. I'm not getting enough time with my 18 year old son - so we organized weekly date nights for the two of us.

It's easy to get caught up in the daily grind, but this is a powerful reminder to be intentional with our time.

Thanks for that story and reminder, Jeff! I have a 16-year old and I can already see him as an adult, off on his own, doing his thing. I am treasuring every bit of time I have with him and planned some big adventures together knowing time is short.
