It was for the Internet, for the Cloud, for the SmartPhone, . . . but like concrete in Interstate Highways, it enables something greater once it exists. Solutions like Artificial Intelligence, Spatial Computing, Intelligent Transportation, and Autonomous Systems require an entirely new network of services to support any scaled adoption. Just as Bob Metcalfe's ethernet flattened the proprietary wired network; new NextG technologies will flatten the wireless networks.
