It is my pleasure to report that Innovations in Logistics has successfully completed a technical feasibility trial project regarding the loading and unloading of gypsum into our 14-ton reusable flexible #bulk containers (FBCs). This trial was intended to demonstrate to a #gypsum producer in #Turkey and its client in the Mediterranean region that our FBCs are economically efficient and technically well-suited to replace common 1/2.5-ton jumbo bags on complex intermodal international trade routes. When the project becomes operational, unnecessary labor operations will be mechanized and automated, and gypsum will be loaded into FBCs via standard automatic feeders. However, even now, the trial project has met all operational parameters for the loading and unloading times of gypsum. #cement #bulk #flyash #fertilizers #sand #minerals #chemicals #sulfur

Making cement paste for checking initial and final setting time of cement and also the consistency of cement. Normal consistency should be 25 to 30. In this Experiment we got 26.6 of normal consistency.

.........................#Gypsum................ ##Gypsum is a naturally occurring mineral mined from deposits formed by ancient seabeds as a raw material. Composed of calcium sulfate and water, it is used for a variety of manufacturing, industrial, and agricultural uses. Its colour is white, Grey, yellow, red, and brown. An important property of gypsum is that it is naturally fire-resistant. #When is Gypsum added to the cement? In the manufacturing process of cement, clinkers are formed. These cement clinkers are cooled down and added with a small amount of gypsum. The mixture is then sent to the final grinding process. For ordinary Portland cement, it remains between 3 to 5%, and in the case of Quick setting cement, it can be reduced up to 2.5%. #Gypsum has many Benefits.Including.. 1. Gypsum prevents Flash Setting of cement during manufacturing. 2. It retards the setting time of cement. 3. Allows a longer working time for mixing, transporting and placing. 4. When water is mixed to cement Aluminates and sulfates get react and evolve some heat but gypsum acts as coolant and brings down the heat of hydration. 5. Gypsum cements possess considerably greater strength and hardness when compared to non gypsum cement. 6. Water required in gypsum based cement for hydration process is less.

Yes, it makes almost no difference to the quality of the end product whether more lime or more cement is used; in extreme cases, only lime or only cement can be used as a binding agent. However, the lime/cement ratio is often of decisive importance for process control. Lime reacts comparatively quickly and significantly increases the temperature in the mixing phase and at the start of the pre-curing period. Cement reacts later and tends to determine the final temperature of the cake; more lime is beneficial when the raw materials and equipment are cold (e.g. in winter). If the raw materials and equipment are warm (e.g. in summer), less lime is often used and consequently more cement instead. The lime/cement ratio is primarily important for controlling the temperature of the process. Beside the question of technology, the price of raw the binders needs to be considered as well.
