Partners in #workforcedevelopment, remember that real people directly benefit from all your hard #work in the #workforce sector. Thanks for sharing this story Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership. Happy Holidays! #upskilling #apprenticeships #jobs #BuildBackBetter
Rudolph “Rudy” B. is a veteran and, as for so many who serve, his transition back to civilian life was challenging. His journey to find a new career and successfully ‘come home’ led him to the Calumet Area Industrial Commission (CAIC), in The Partnership’s network. CAIC’s programs introduced Rudy to On the Job (OJT) training with a local employer and eventually a full-time job. When this employer closed its doors, Rudy used the skills he learned through his OJT to transfer to another sector, and his career continues today!

It's fanastic we at AESSEAL get to support the engineering profession in this way. Our links with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers speak for themselves but they are not always publicly shared. Being a Member Partner is a great way to do it and exercise those #UKSPEC D and E competences for communication. Check out our link below! #professionalengineering #cpd #charteredengineer #ceng
We are celebrating our new Membership Partnership with AESSEAL - one of the world’s leading specialists in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals, seal support systems and related industrial products. Professional registration ensures that their engineers continually advance their knowledge and keep up with emerging technologies, practises, and market needs. AESSEAL has a close history with the IMechE, having established MPDS schemes for CEng, IEng, EngTech developing engineers, sponsored local Yorkshire Region volunteer activities and hosted Presidents’ addresses and visits. Being an IMechE Membership Partner helps AESSEAL unite these initiatives, facilitate holistic career pathways for developing engineers, and contribute to the profession. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4a01Xoi

Hi Jonathan, Congratulations and well done. In order to receive this Certificate of Award, Jonathan had to populate a 120-page plus IQ OQ PQ protocol to qualify a Clean-in-Place System in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The protocol detailed the following elements: Product characteristics – showing what your system is looking to achieve/produce Production equipment – detailing the equipment necessary Test scripts and methods – telling you the steps involved in conducting a test Test parameters and acceptance criteria – defining acceptable test results Test checksheets – documenting and recording the test results Final approval – documenting that the validation process has been successfully carried out. To complete this assignment, Jonathan had to learn the following: - How to prioritise which parts of the equipment system are critical to qualify and which parts are not etc, using component impact assessments and risk management tools. - How to read/interpret the engineering documentation such as P&IDs, Piping Isometrics and Electrical Loop Drawings used to define the equipment system. - How the intent of a process (like maintaining the product at the required temperature) is linked to the equipment that will be used to do this. - The tests along with the functional test scripts necessary to confirm that the installed equipment is fit-for-purpose, i.e. that it will do what it states that it will do based on the User Requirement Specifications). - How to use a traceability matrix tool to ensure that all requirements defined within the User Requirement Specifications (URS) are tested in the protocol. - How to qualify equipment, instruments and piping systems, and automation controls. Well done again on your hard work!
I'm delighted to receive my Certificate of Award in 'Commissioning & Qualification of Equipment Systems' from GetReskilled Geraldine Creaner Donagh Fitzgerald

Glad to see trade schools making a comeback! With the rising demand for skilled workers in fields like construction, diesel tech, and computer technology, it's no surprise that enrollment in trade schools has been on the rise. According to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, occupations requiring vocational training are projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. It’s great to see our leaders recognizing the importance of hands-on training and specialized skills in meeting the demands of the workforce. What other factors do you think are contributing to this renewed interest in trade education?
Lt. Governor Jon Husted was at the Southern Hills Career & Technical Center's groundbreaking ceremony yesterday! The expansion project was made possible by a $4.6 million Career Technical Construction Program grant, helping the school expand their facility to add two new programs – Welding Fabrication and Allied Health Care – to serve up to 100 additional students.

Whether one believes that the brutal deindustrialization of the UK in the 1980s was inevitable, or an avoidable consequence of government policy, at least we seem to realize now that the country needs an industrial base, even if on a smaller scale. This story has positives all round. The Royal Fleet Auxiliary will receive new support ships. Shipbuilding returns to Harland & Wolff, where the fabrication halls will undergo a major upgrade. Jobs and apprenticeships will be created in Belfast. It is not about government running the economy, but taking a strategic view to maintain and expand our national industrial capacity, with all the associated benefits that brings. #economy #business #industry #royalnavy #armedforces #government

It was so amazing to have the opportunity to talk to Kim Greene, CEO of Georgia Power, and others from Georgia Power, as well as Dean Raheem Beyah about Energy and Women in Engineering. We had a panel with other Women in Engineering and discussed 1) how to fix the “leaky pipeline” of women in engineering and 2) how to get more people interested in power, which are the two things I love to figure out answers to with Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech and Energy Club at Georgia Tech
Last week was fantastic as we had the pleasure of hosting Kim Greene, the Chairman, President, and CEO of the Georgia Power Company. Our agenda included touring various maker spaces and labs, along with engaging discussions with some of our amazing engineering students. I was thrilled that my Leadership Atlanta classmate, Jason Cuevas, and Georgia Tech College of Engineering Board member Latanza Adjei were part of the Georgia Power Company delegation. We are grateful for the ongoing partnership with the Georgia Power Company and Southern Company and are committed to further strengthening this relationship over time!

The Integrated Machining Technology (IMT) program is "a perfect match" between IALR and Danville Community College (DCC). The third-year capstone machining program, housed by IALR and instructed by DCC, provides the leadership and technical skills needed by industry partners. "When people come here, they see DCC and IALR. Some of them think we're a part of the community college because it's that seamless. That's by design. Industry and students don't care about who delivers the program as long as they get the training, the degree, the credential, and a job. Those are the things that our customers are interested in." - IALR President Telly Tucker Learn more about the IMT program: https://ow.ly/J10e50Qe6YL Hear more about the strategic and robust partnership between IALR and DCC: https://ow.ly/5uBO50Qe6YK

Investments in education of specialists as the base for successful and uninterrupted work of military industries:
We’re investing in the future with an Applied Shipbuilding Academy in Scotstoun 🛳️ This Academy will not only spur the modernisation of Glasgow’s historic shipbuilding industry, but it will create a wave of opportunity for the almost 4,500 employees, including nearly 700 apprentices. These new facilities will also enable a substantial expansion of our early careers programmes and it will greatly enhance productivity of the shipyards to support the delivery of the eight Type 26 frigates for the Royal Navy and potential future orders. 🎙️ Sharing My Commencement Speech: Leading with Empathy I had the honor of delivering a commencement speech at the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Basic Police Class Graduation. The theme of my speech was how good leadership is rooted in seeing people, understanding the circumstances they are facing, and committing to improving those circumstances.
