Sometimes “the most wonderful time of the year” isn’t the best time of the year. If you feel stressed and anxious around the holidays, you’re not alone. During the holidays, here are 4 ways to put your mental health first, from the National Alliance on Mental Illness: 1. Accept Your Feelings—Allow your feelings to be what they are. Be kind to yourself and let yourself feel whatever you’re feeling. 2. Maintain Healthy Habits—Plan time every day for things like working out, going to therapy, and getting enough sleep. 3. Set Boundaries: It’s okay to say No. It’s okay to limit time spent with family. 4. Make Time To Connect: Spend time with people who are important to you or remember a loved one who is no longer with you. Connect with yourself through self-care. How are you today? No, really? How has the day been for you? As we mark World Mental Health Day, this is a reminder for all of us (myself included!) to take a step back and assess how we’re truly feeling. If self-reflection is your thing, take a moment for it. If you need someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to reach out—to a friend, a colleague, or even a professional. And if you feel the need for a day off, take it! You’d be amazed at how refreshing it can be. We can be passionate about our work, but it’s just as important to carve out time to rest and recharge. Whether it’s taking a walk, reading that book you’ve been putting off, or simply unplugging for a bit, your well-being matters. Taking care of yourself ensures that you can give your best to those around you. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to check in on that colleague or friend who may need a kind word or gesture today. Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest difference. If you’re committing to prioritising some ‘me time’ this week, drop a comment below! Let’s make self-care a routine, not just an afterthought. Start with today, then build this into a much needed routine. P.S. I recently had some much-needed downtime with my sister, and it was just what I needed! #WorldMentalHealthDay #YouAreFirstPrize #YouDontHaveToBePerfectToBeHere #BeKindToYourself

Is mental health a priority amidst your busy career ⁉ Today, on World Mental Health Day, let's pause for a quick check-in & ask yourself the below questions: --> When was the last time you took a break from your busy schedules? --> When did you last treat yourself to your favourite meal? --> Have you recently learned a new skill just for the joy of it? --> When was the last time you got lost in nature ? --> How often do you tell your loved ones how much they mean to you? --> Have you stopped shaming yourself for your struggles? --> When did you last indulge in a long, relaxing shower? --> Have you sorted your favourite playlists to unwind to? --> Is quality time with your loved ones a part of your routine? Hey You, the one reading this.... It's okay to be not okay! I know the pressure can be intense, but today I wish you more power for self-love & self-care. It's not just okay to take a break, it's essential. 😊 #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealthmatters #selfcare #breakthestigma #wellbeing
