Did you know that it has been over 25 years since Erie County last built a business park? Also, that there are no shovel-ready/development-ready business parcels with utilities on site over 50 acres, which is considered the minimum size needed by major project site selectors? Without the assets, Erie loses everyday. Learn the successes and the sobering challenges that face the economic development climate in Erie County by listening to my crucial conversation with Tina Mengine of ECRDA. https://lnkd.in/gUsjzdG9

What about all the empty spaces in the industrial park on Klier drive? I all for growing industrial in Erie and Erie county but I don't see the big advantage here. There's also an Industrial park on Downing that has zero buildings in it???

Joel, thanks for the opportunity to talk Erie and Economic Development. So many good things happening here and so much more to do!

Agreeing totally with Eric Eichenlaub and disagreeing a little with Brandon Skelton. There is some room on Klier Drive for sure. And it's right on I90?? A new park would be great too, if done right.  As far as Wabtec goes, those are the union workers that want it all. They base the ask of money on other communities that are far more expensive to live in. I give Wabtec praise too for putting up with the strike, and working out a deal. They should be ashamed of the way they act over there when picketing. The news doesn't tell the whole story.  I am blessed to work for a local company that takes care of it's employees.

Erie needs this so bad in so many ways. Every major city has this. To deny it is to deny Erie any opportunity for growth. Also, WHEN it does happen, make sure it is connected to public transit.
