Today is the day! Make a big impact by supporting your favorite non-profit organizations through one of the largest online giving movements in the state. Learn more ColoradoGives.org. A few of the non-profits that I supported today include: Colorado Homeownership Coalition, Hope Communities, MaxFund Animal Adoption Center, Youth Employment Academy, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver, and CHAC - Colorado Housing Assistance Corporation. Who will you be supporting today? #givewhereyoulive#coloradogivesday
Many of you may not have heard of the app Be My Eyes, I have this on my phone and it is to provide visual assistance when needed.
If a blind or low-vision Be My Eyes user needs your help, you will receive a notification on your phone. If you’re the first volunteer to answer the request, you will be connected with that user. A one-way video connection will be established between the two of you, meaning you can see where or what the blind or low vision user points their camera at and guide them if necessary.
Be My Eyes have a substantial amount of volunteers who are eager to help, so please be aware that you may not be the first to answer, and you may not receive calls daily or weekly. You will only receive calls in the daytime hours of your local timezone between 8am and 9pm.
Please do not worry if you are busy when receiving a call - another volunteer will pick up the call. Secondly, you do not need to have the app open to receive calls. Calls will come through as long as you are logged in to your Be My Eyes account.
Blind and low-vision users may need help with anything from determining expiration dates to finding dropped items to navigating unfamiliar places and much more.

Worthing is so fortunate to have Worthing Community Chest to give grants local non-profit community groups, which make a difference to so many lives in the town.
Did you know that you can easily help raise funds for Worthing Community Trust by donating your old clothes via their textile recycling bins? Perfect if you're having a summer clear out!👚 👕 ♻
The green/turquoise bins (there's some debate about the colour!) are dotted all over Worthing. Find your closest one on the handy map below:
In the bin, you can put:
- All clothing and other textiles such as bed linen, cushion covers, blankets and tea towels
- Shoes and other footwear including socks, boots and trainers
-Unfortunately they can’t take pillows, duvets, sleeping bags, tents or mattresses

I'll take a photo when I visit a recycling bin and I'll do a poll on the colour 😁

Last night, Nicola and Laura were honoured to attend Worthing Community Chest's AGM and hear about the exciting future plans for support they will give to local grassroots charities.
Worthing Community Chest has generously funded a portion of this year's Between the Blue Film Festival, and we're incredibly grateful for their contribution. The festival simply wouldn't be possible without their support.
A big thank you to Susan and the entire Worthing Community Chest team for your tireless efforts to enrich the lives of people in the community. Your work is truly making a difference.

Did you know that 1 in 7 people experience #foodinsecurity? Supporting and working alongside families in our local communities with quality nourishment and improved access, is a privilege and cherished responsibility.
Watch how Elevance Health, associates and our foundation – on #GivingTuesday and every day - are putting a #wholehealth approach into action. Through multi-phased #foodasmedicine grants from our foundation to Feeding America, associate #volunteering, or partnering with communities to design inclusive strategies, we’re driving health forward.

Thank you to the more than 2,000 associates who showed up this fall to give back through our annual Elevance Health #Volunteer Days! Our volunteers sorted, packed and harvested 738,259 pounds of food at 105 events in 32 markets.
And today on #GivingTuesday associates will have a chance to keep the momentum going through a one-day-only $2:$1 match when they give to our signature charities.
Those of you who know us, know how much we rate Trybooking UK and the team behind it. So much so, that they have been a recommended, 'Go To', associate partner in the Hospitality Partnership since we changed the business model in 2021 to offer a host of different expert resource on a flexible and 'as needed' basis.
This testimonial from the CEO Liz Stewart of Scotland's Garden Scheme, just dropped, and it shows how effective the Trybooking UK platform is for event and ticket sales.
But the platform offers so much more, even seating/table plans, menu choices and dietary notes, takes payment, sends itineraries etc. And guess what it's totally free to use for non-charged events and more competitive than many other platforms for charged events, oh and you only get charged on each ticket sold, so no risk or financial outlay.
Is it important for you to work with UK businesses, then yep, TryBooking are here in the UK not North America.
An amazing team to help and support you, lead by Joan Lind if needed.
Give it a go, honestly, you'll wish you had moved sooner :-)

Huge thanks to Joan Lind and her fab team at Trybooking UK for managing our ticket sales for The Garden of Cosmic Speculation this week, raising funds for Maggie's Centres and Scotland’s Gardens Scheme charities. Sold out in well under 24 hours and we really appreciated their help and advice along the way. Great service!

I find it inspiring to see how Mountain View Printing & Graphics Ltd. has been quietly making a difference in our community by supporting organisations like Inn from the Cold, Calgary Food Bank, Calgary Humane Society, and Kingdom Coffee to name a few...
How do other businesses out there integrate giving back into their business models? Whether it's through charitable donations, volunteering, or other forms of support, I'd love to hear about the creative ways companies are making a positive impact.
#Question: As a small business, what unique approaches do you take to give back to your community, and how do you balance this with the demands of running your business? Is this something even on your radar?

If you could read the thought bubble over my head…
This is what I’m thinking today: Behind the busy scenes—the crazy pace of our print business—nobody knows about the ways in which we support our local community.
For years, we have been donating to and supporting local charitable organizations like: Inn from the Cold, Calgary Food Bank, Calgary Humane Society and Kingdom Coffee.
As a small business owner, we can only do this if we’re successful. We can help make a difference because we have the capacity (and the compassion). It’s the other side nobody sees.
If you’re a small business owner, how do you do it?
