Recognition matters because representation matters! Full disclosure: I worked on this program for nearly two years. I understand its integrity and know from experience that winners often go on to do even more amazing things (I.e., inclusive leaders pay it forward!). Out & Equal’s Outie Awards recognize inclusive leaders and strategic initiatives that are making positive changes in their workplaces (and beyond!) for LGBTQIA+ talent, and others! There are so many champions out there doing great work! Often quietly and without much support. Apply and help recognize these champions, while amplifying their efforts as role models for others to follow! #recognitionmatters #representationmatters #inclusiveleadership
Act now and submit an Outie Award nomination for an individual, organizational initiative, and/or ERG whose work is advancing LGBTQ+ workplace equity, inclusion, and belonging in measurable ways! The Outie Awards will be presented to winners at the annual Out & Equal Workplace Summit, elevating the award-winners’ profile as an LGBTQ+ inclusion champion and providing employer of choice visibility for winning organizations. Submit a nomination by July 10 here: https://lnkd.in/erDUj5Y #OESummit24 #BusinessOfBelonging

Pride month is winding down, but, as we’ve highlighted this month, so many amazing organizations and people support the LGBTQ+ community all year long. Out & Equal is celebrating these folks with their Outie Awards. If you know of a person or group who “is advancing LGBTQ+ workplace equity, inclusion, and belonging in measurable ways,” consider nominating them for an Outie! #pride #dei #belonging #humanresourcesmanagement https://lnkd.in/gskbgTre

What's more, a third are looking to move to a more LGBTQ+ inclusive employer. So, what can you do as a manager or employee to help everyone feel like they belong? As a gay human, it means a lot to me that my employer Husch Blackwell is genuinely dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment. Because DEI is in our strategic plan and engrained in our people-first culture, I feel like I can show up to work as my whole self. This is important because being able to show up to work authentically is the foundation for feeling valued and being engaged, which we all know leads to greater fulfilment and productivity as well as enhanced team and client outcomes. In my role as a coach and people developer, I often encourage our employees to show up to work authentically by focusing on bringing awareness to and developing their natural talents (i.e., their CliftonStrengths). As leaders, it's paramount to create a culture - defined by agreed upon acceptable behaviors - that prioritizes inclusion. When we prioritize inclusion, our people and our clients benefit. Life is simply too short to not live it authentically. #TeamHB #DEI #HRC #HumanRights #WorkplaceEqualityProgram
At Husch Blackwell, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all employees, including our LGBTQ+ workforce. We are proud to be recognized with the Equality 100 Award in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, reflecting our efforts to create a supportive workplace that attracts and retains top talent.
