LGBTQ+ Small businesses are encouraged to apply for the Queer to Stay grant. This program is designed to support LGBTQ+ small businesses, especially those owned by and designed for LGBTQ+ people of color, women and the transgender community. Applications to participate this year are due by August 31, 2024. For more more details and to apply: https://ow.ly/28Xl50SMhBv The “Queer to Stay” initiative launched in June 2020, awarding 10 LGBTQ+ small businesses across the country by addressing the financial hardships faced during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the fifth iteration of this program, “Queer to Stay” will reach over $1 million in total distributed funding, awarding over 100 businesses across the country over its lifetime.

The journey towards LGBTQ+ justice, equality, and inclusion, has never been easy. We’ve faced countless challenges, naysayers, and setbacks. But, with the support of our allies, we’ve persevered.  Over the last two decades, we’ve achieved what once seemed impossible: workplace protections, marriage equality, greater representation across every major platform, and a shift in hearts and minds towards greater acceptance and inclusion of our community. As we celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, it’s important we remember our progress and our accomplishments. They remind us how strong our community can be and renew us for the important work ahead.    And let’s always remember that together, we’re powerful. June is Pride Month! 🏳️🌈 For the month of June, we'll have some weekly LGBTQ+ Housing facts for you. The LGBTQ+ community tends to be significantly younger than the non-LGBTQ+ population. Specifically, 52% of individuals identifying as LGBTQ+ are under 35 years old, while only 23% of those identifying as straight and cisgender fall into the same age group. These age disparities account for roughly half of the difference in homeownership rates between LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ individuals, as younger people are generally less likely to own homes compared to older individuals.
