The USDA is initiating phase one of its $160 million National Center for Resilient, Regenerative, and Precision Agriculture at the Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln. With $56.2 million in federal funding, it will expand greenhouses and integrate new research on agricultural technology, precision farming, resilience, and regenerative methods. This election is going to be big for sustainable/regenerative agriculture. As I'm graduating in a week, it seems as its the first election that will have true impact on my work (I'll be voting in NY so I wont have much of an impact). Regardless of your political leanings, it is important to know the Trump Administration proposed a $2B cut to sustainable ag funding in their proposed FY2019 budget, and the House and Senate seem split on environmental ag reform. #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativefarming #climate #news https://lnkd.in/emE3bpS7

In early 2023, the Resource Innovation Institute and international greenhouse and indoor farms joined forces to establish agreed-upon methodologies to guide environmental accounting and reporting related to CEA and how it can be compared to traditional farming. Developed by a team of collaborating entities involved in the CEA Footprint Project, the guide is a how-to resource for energy, water, and carbon emissions accounting and reporting. Big win for climate-smart agriculture! The Agriculture Finance Sustainability Coalition, a new partnership between agriculture, environmental groups and financial institutions, supported a significant awardee of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's $14-billion National Clean Investment Fund. Climate United secured $6.97 billion, which it will use to mobilize financing and private capital and accelerate market activity to combat the climate crisis. Several members of the coalition are prepared to deploy financial solutions to farmers, which will leverage private capital and enable farmers to access the flexible financing they need to adopt climate-smart agriculture practices and technologies. This year again, I will be introducing and moderating the "Agricultural PV: How to Tap into Europe's Huge Potential for Solar Power in Agriculture" conference at the Intersolar Europe Conference in Munich, June 18th at 4:30 PM, Room 14C. During all those years dedicated to AgriPV, dual-use of land approach, as Chair of the Agrisolar, became Land-Use and Permitting workstream at SolarPower Europe, I worked with the best experts to foster a quick and correct development of this new market, promoting best practices to ensure a sustainable development attentive to agricultural production, environmental impacts and local communities. This year we will focus on economics.
