When I got into this industry, 25 years ago, never did I dream of working with the list & caliber of talents I did for most of the time at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group , Firmdale Hotels PLC , Dorchester Collection and Langham Hospitality Group {hence I have a Pinterest Album to remind me some time}. The key to it was: to be personal, discreet, trustworthy, accommodating, authentic, make them feel safe and treat them with simple humanity, to always be three steps ahead {because always something else popped up that had higher priority than the previous priority}, to look after the entire crew and not just the talent {because it goes a very long way}, to be there more or less 24/7 and to be that one-stop-shop. It had a lot of benefits, and not only did I travel, got unforgettable rewards and invitations/experiences, learned a lot from the most demanding, creating complex project management situations, working for clients that needed to get the best out of me and the efficiency of and communication to my teams, but nevertheless it combined my hobby of music, film, tv and entertainment with my passion of hospitality & care but it also showed me a side of most of my clients that will stay with me forever. Unlike anyone else in our Group, I took some time before deciding to post and share this award. We all should be proud of this achievement after years and months of struggles to restore the level of recognition and market leadership, for our property. However, aside from the glitzy glorified image of a hotel or resort, it lies more than that: the people working behind the scenes, with their own struggles and challenges. Their dreams and goals (if they have) and how I should be able to direct them towards the right path of understanding that there is more in life. The change in mindsets from average people working in hotels to become superstar hoteliers. The trainings we offer them to develop their career and the hunger we instill in them, to be eager at becoming better professionals, capable to succeed one day and stand on their feet alone. The system we put in place to ensure smooth, streamlined, efficient operations. The service culture and orientation we want to deliver to each single guest, regardless they are VIPs, celebrities, or just people like me and you. The genuine care to exceed guests' expectations, just paid off by a guest's single smile or by hearing their kids saying "Mummy, this is the best hotel ever"! And not to forget what I always call the "corporate culture" we want all staff to be aligned. Not merely a list of values or mission statement, forced to be memorized; but instead, how do you live them everyday, in your personal and professional life? The day all the above will be reached, an invisible Best Award will be given to me, much more worth it than any other recognition.

Under the Lights of Hotel Camiral - 5* Hotel at PGA Catalunya Resort: A Gratitude to Hospitality In the whirlwind pace of our lives, there are moments when we pause at flashes of #hospitality that leave a lasting impression. Recently, the doors of Hotel Camiral opened for us, the MICE-Walkers (Roberta Lara Mibelli, Marta Budet i Jofra, Carolien V. Kroon, Sara Zamana, Raquel Consul) 5 passionate individuals in the world of events. The immaculate surroundings and meticulous attention to detail reminded us why excellence is the hallmark of this establishment. For us, whose hearts beat to the rhythm of #eventplanning, Camiral revealed itself as the perfect stage. The flexibility of its spaces and the willingness of the staff to adapt to our needs made every corner a blank canvas for our future ideas. A special thanks to Mireia Frigola Ramos, whose professionalism and dedication transformed our visions into a seamless and effortless reality. In the fleeting span of 24 hours, it not only welcomed us but also hinted at all the elements necessary to host our upcoming events. In an anecdote that resonated with the complexity of our world, the "breakfast" moment became a microcosm of divergent expectations and perceptions. For some, it was a sweet awakening of #culinarydelights, while for others, a slight disappointment in not finding everything anticipated. What happens when we place expectations on the unknown? This episode, as trivial as it is significant, reflects the very essence of our work in the #worldofevents. Every day, we embark on the task of preparing experiences, carefully tending to each detail. However, as we learned at the breakfast table, we can't always foresee individual expectations. Each person is a #uniqueuniverse, and our own projections may clash with diverse realities. So, even as we strive for overall satisfaction, we acknowledge that not everyone will always feel fully content. Does this mean we have failed in our work? Certainly not. Our work is an art of balance, a dance between the diversity of preferences and excellence in execution. This is the nature of #eventmanagement—not a failure but an intrinsic reality. Total perfection is a myth, but excellence persists in our #dedication to surpass expectations and learn from each experience. A valuable lesson: in the diversity of expectations, we find opportunities to grow, adapt, and, above all, refine our art.
