Everyone I'm speaking with these days mentions how crazy and challenging the Tech market is right now.
Agencies, big or small, are feeling it.
Pixelmatters felt it and keeps feeling it, too.
In one of those conversations, I mentioned how (for the first time ever) through 2023 Pixelmatters had a few people "on the bench", without client work allocation.
𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: "André, how do you deal with that anxiety?"
It's a super interesting question that I never reflected upon up until that moment.
Thinking through, the answer is that it's hard. It's fucked up to deal with that anxiety, as you know that from one day to the other things may change significantly to the good...or the bad.
So, after doing this for almost 10 years 👴 what I conclude is that the only way to deal with emotionally and mentally is... 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
And to have a "clear conscience" means hustling and working hard. Trying to have a better brand, more and more stable clients, a better service, learning and evolving every day, being responsible when managing the company finances, all while always treating the team respectfully and humanely, knowing that at the end of the day, this is just work and not a family.
I don't know. The above kind of works for me.

Nobody knows anything. We can all spend years creating robust features and complicated products that may never be used.
A simple poke became a social media staple for connecting. Early Facebook was all about creativity and experimentation. This just shows the power of simple, fun ideas in tech.
Simplicity often trumps complexity. The Poke wasn't planned with grand strategy. It was about playful connection. No overthinking, just execution.
Zuckerberg's early vision prioritized user engagement. Casual, lighthearted interaction drew people in. Sometimes the simplest ideas have the biggest impact. He builds, tests, learns, and iterates. Innovation thrives on experimentation.
