Brazil and the IEA agree to strenghten their cooperation during the official visit of the Executive Director, Dr. Fatih Birol, to Brasília on 31 January and 1st February. On the occasion, IEA and Brazil signed their seventh two-year joint work programme, covering issues such as expanding energy access and clean energy manufacturing. Moreover, excellent discussions were held with Brazilian authorities, the private sector and other stakeholders on Brazil’s leadership role in the new energy economy, as well as on the priorities of G20 and COP-30 under Brazil’s chairship in 2024 and 2025. Investments in renewables, including biofuels, just and inclusive energy transition, social inclusion, sustainable finance and sustainable development are high in the agenda. It was for me a great honor to attend these meetings and collaborate to a strengthened partnership between Brazil and the IEA. https://lnkd.in/eYdzNndd https://lnkd.in/ebEyDqZe https://lnkd.in/eGrrNBBJ https://lnkd.in/eH5vnGpf

Shaping a Sustainable Future for India | Leading Innovations in Energy at Amarbhaw Power | CEO & Founder @Amarbhaw
From Zero clients to representing the country in the renewable energy industry Invitation to join the President's delegation. Connecting with 100+ global delegates Dreams come true! As an entrepreneur in the renewable energy sector, I had the incredible honour of being part of the Indian business delegation accompanying the President of India on a state visit to Sweden. It was a surreal experience to be invited to join the select group joining the President for high-level meetings and events with the Swedish government and industry leaders. One of the highlights was being invited to a formal state banquet hosted by the King and Queen of Sweden in honour of the President at the Gilded Royal Palace in Stockholm. It felt like stepping back in time as we were warmly welcomed for an evening of rich history and ceremony showcasing Swedish culture. This once-in-a-lifetime privilege strengthened my resolve in many ways: Witnessing the gravity of leadership up close deepened my sense of duty and citizenship. Connecting with 100+ global delegates expanded my entrepreneurial vision. Walking the halls of power left me swelling with inspiration for the road ahead. Interacting with the President himself imparted wisdom and accountable thinking. Representing Indian innovation ignited my commitment to sustainable development. In 2010, I jokingly told my brother I wanted to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President's house in India. He said I could only visit during public hours. But I told him "No, I want to be invited by the President. I want to be successful enough to merit that honour." It seemed an impossible dream then. But fast forward years later - that wild dream became reality. Share your dreams becoming a reality moment with me in the comments. #solarenergy #renewableenergy #dreamscometrue

Earlier this week, Georgios Exarchou, our Business Developer for Greece & Cyprus, discussed HDF Energy’s ambitions for the Greek market and sustainability with esteemed members of the Secretariat for Commercial, Industry and Business Affairs for Nea Dimokratia (Νέα Δημοκρατία - New Democracy), currently Greece's governing political party. ❇️ The meeting was hosted at Nea Dimokratia's headquarters by the Secretary, Akis Bafas, who was accompanied by Yannis Triantafyllou, Director of the Secretariat, Simos Christofakis, Coordinator, ESG and Sustainable Business Affairs, and Karayannis George, Coordinator, Energy Affairs. 🌟 Discussions held covered Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) metrics, reskilling the workforce for the energy transition, and specific challenges in Greece, including delignitization areas, non-interconnected islands, and Crete. 🧩 Georgios highlighted the vital role of the Energy Management System (EMS), the "brain" of our Renewstable® hydrogen power plants. The EMS seamlessly orchestrates the plants’ renewable energy sources, hydrogen installations, and Li-on batteries to ensure an uninterrupted, cost-competitive supply of green electricity 24/7, whilst meeting grid requirements and saving thousands of tons of CO2 annually. 🤝 Secretary Bafas, in his remarks, stressed out that Nea Dimokratia views energy transition as a unique opportunity for knowledge transfer and reskilling/upskilling local workforce affected by the “delignitization” process and the broader changes in the energy production field. Georgios, in reply, emphasized that this approach is crucial for the success of all our hydrogen infrastructure projects under development worldwide. #fuelcell #energytransition #greenhydrogen #greece

NORWAY DENIES NORTHCONNECT’S LICENSE APPLICATION A news flash that maybe fell off the radar this week was the fact that Norwegian government re-stated their decision to halt the planned new export power line to Scotland. This is a confirmation of news from earlier this year https://lnkd.in/d4mjgjsS where the government wants to safeguard domestic industry. So Norway takes a firm stand when it comes to “For whom do we maintain and develop our Power system” https://lnkd.in/eaxNt2ec. and they do not see “One happy European Power family” https://lnkd.in/dwPwXdbu as their key objective. All this is triggered by how to maintain “Competitive industrial prices” https://lnkd.in/dkaVeNaa and a question any balanced and well functioning power market in Europe should ask themselves. Ideologically driven transition narratives seems to become obsolete, German Energiewende corner stones/fundaments as Siemens Energy are seeking governmental support, EOn and RWE are requesting more subsidies, BASF CEO promotes more competitive Chinese wind supply chains, the world is upside down with little light in the tunnel so one could understand the Norwegian stand 🤔 Sweden, Finland and others who have figured out how to balance their Trilemmas should ask themselves the same question😇 https://lnkd.in/dP3WmiAP

Yesterday Lithuanian 🇱🇹 energy minister Dainius Kreivys presented the vision for #hydrogen development. “Lithuania should produce enough hydrogen to meet its needs in 2050, and will export surplus energy products to other countries using huge amounts of local green electricity. In Lithuania, 24 TWh of hydrogen could be consumed, and the power of the installed #electrolysers would reach 8.5 GW. They could consume 36 TWh of electricity – three times more than today's total demand. 2050 Lithuania's hydrogen infrastructure should be well connected to neighboring countries, which will provide opportunities for both export and import of hydrogen and use the hydrogen #storage infrastructure available in other countries.” #renewableenergy #H2 #EnergySmart #IgnitisRenewables
