Great to see the progress made in the development of our Gentian PETIA NT-proBNP assay! My colleagues Aleksandra Mandic Havelka and Ly Thi Tran are currently attending the Heart Failure 2024 conference in Lisbon, where they have presented two posters addressing the impact of glycosylation on the detection and quantification of NT-proBNP. During the conference, the LC MS/MS and PETIA methods were discussed, both providing independence from glycosylation of NT-proBNP. Our research findings underscore the significance of glycosylation in accurately measuring NT-proBNP concentration, shedding light on the potential underestimation of NT-proBNP levels by assays targeting glycosylated regions. Given the considerable variability in levels and site occupancy of O-glycosylated proteins, there is growing optimism that immunoassays focusing on glycosylation-free regions of NT-proBNP could offer substantial benefits in diagnosing, prognosing, and monitoring therapy for heart failure (HF) in specific patient groups and disease states. These assays show promise in detecting endogenous NT-proBNP regardless of its glycosylation status.

Given the considerable variability in levels and site occupancy of O-glycosylated proteins, it is reasonable to anticipate that immunoassays targeting glycosylation-free regions of NT-proBNP may offer advantages in #HearthFailure (HF) diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy monitoring for specific patient groups and disease states, since these assays can detect endogenous NT-proBNP regardless of its glycosylation status.

Oculis just announced Positive Topline Results of Phase 2b RELIEF Trial with Licaminlimab/OCS-02, a game-changing approach in treating Dry Eye Disease through precision medicine. Key highlights from the trial: - Notable improvements in multiple efficacy endpoints, with more pronounced effects in the TNFR1 genetic biomarker population. - Patients with the TNFR1 biomarker demonstrated a 7-fold higher response on symptoms and 5-fold higher response on signs, showcasing the potential of personalized treatment approaches in about 20% of DED patients. In patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis, utilizing a computational phenotype (i.e., an electronic algorithm) for identifying disease relapse has demonstrated strong performance in retrospect. This was based on findings from individuals enrolled in the Rare Kidney Disease Registry and Biobank, with the results published in the journal RMD Open.
