Doing small things consistently well is challenging. Who cares about millimeters when success is measured in kilometers? My golf coach taught me a great business lesson: the little things absolutely matter and can have a dramatic effect. I started playing golf in high school and have played on and off since then. I recently took a few lessons because a problem I had when I started playing golf returned: a slice. (I try to hit the ball straight, and it curves to the right about 50-75 yards.) The golf pro had me change the way I grip the club. The difference in where I placed my left hand was probably 2-3 centimeters. The difference in where my ball landed was about 50 yards. If you focus on the right small things, it can absolutely have a dramatic effect on the results.
