Jan 7, 2016 — The NCAA's three divisions were created in 1973 to align like-minded campuses in the areas of philosophy, competition and opportunity. People also ask What is difference between division 1 2 3? A school's size and the resources of its athletics program determines its NCAA division. To ensure fairness in competition, larger schools compete in Division 1 and Division 2, while smaller schools compete in Division 3. Division 1 and 2 schools can offer athletic scholarships, while Division 3 schools cannot.

Some more great photos from yesterday's workshop at Shekou!
Another action-packed Athletics CPD Workshop, this time for the staff of Shekou International School! The school also adopted our Complete Athletics Curriculum to encourage student-led learning while delivering high-quality athletics lessons to students in the future! 📚 During the workshop, former International Decathlete Martin Brockman provided the teachers with in-depth knowledge of various athletic events and guided them on how they can help their students excel. We'd like to thank the school for inviting us! The staff showed great enthusiasm for learning, and we're looking forward to seeing the school train & produce some great athletes in the future! 👏 #Athletics #AthleticPerformance #SportsPerformance #PhysicalEducation #SportsEducation #SchoolLeadership #SportsCoaching #SchoolSports #TrackandField #EducationalLeadership

Are we paying attention to what is happening to the smaller, private college sports programs? Great Forbes article by #PennGSE Professor Dr. Karen Weaver at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education as an introduction to the changing landscape of collegiate athletics. So much of the focus is on NCAA Division I programs, but that narrow view leaves out so much of the post-secondary athletic population. Playing sports in college is an honor that so few high school athletes experience. So, when the opportunity arises, how are students able to maximize their chance to continue to play? NCAA Divisions I, II, and III are certainly options, but we also have to keep NAIA and NJCAA schools in the conversation. If the research is showing that NCAA DIII schools are in jeopardy, what then is the fate of programs in the other athletic organizations? In Baltimore City schools, student-athletes comprise the largest number of graduates in the district. I work with these students every day. I only hope that they continue to have a college - NCAA DII or DIII, as well as NAIA and JUCO - to attend and live out their aspirations as students and athletes. #LinkedInsports

In today's college athletics landscape, NIL opportunities have emerged as a game-changing factor for student-athletes. As Olé Foundation Executive Director J.T. Rogan explains, the ability to benefit from their NIL has become crucial when deciding where to play. “NIL deals are now a top priority, sometimes even outweighing the prospect of turning pro early. More athletes are opting to stay in college longer, earning reasonable NIL compensation while honing their skills.” For our Toreros, having access to competitive NIL offers through the Olé Foundation is vital. Rogan explains how compensating players can help lead to more competitive rosters, and a better likelihood of winning games and trophies. By investing in the Olé Foundation, you directly support USD's athletic success at the highest levels.
