Hello Plant Lovers!💚 In my previous reel we saw how to propagate Kanigale plant. We experimented using Aloe Vera gel in a few of the cuttings in order to see if it initiates quicker propagation. Today we find out how much of a difference it makes. As you can see in the video there isn't much difference between the both. While aloe vera gel may boost root growth, our experiment shows it doesn't initiate the rooting process in Kanigale plants. The reason? A lack of auxins. Aloe Vera gel is primarily antibacterial and antimicrobial. All you need is a proper potting mix for plant propagation. 👉🏻 Do try this out at home and let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Office Garden Update! 🌻🌿 Three weeks ago, we planted a GardenSoxx garden at our headquarters. Starting with high-quality organic soil and NO added inputs or fertilizers, our garden is absolutely flourishing! (swipe through the images to see our progress) We used a companion planting method, combining different vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. Companion planting is an excellent way to get the most out of your GardenSoxx - allowing you to grow a wider variety of crops in a smaller space. Incorporating aromatic herbs and certain types of flowers among your vegetable and fruit crops can also help deter insects and rodents (especially the local groundhog that comes around occasionally). 🫛When planting pea and bean seeds, I first soak the seeds for a few hours or overnight. The I toss them in innoculent before planting. 🦠Rhizobium bacteria, commonly known as legume inoculant, is a specific bacteria that colonizes the roots of the plant. The roots develop nodules that allow them to access nitrogen as a gas and convert it into ammonia that the plants can use. 🌚This nitrogen gets stored inside the plant which is why legumes are used as a cover crop and is num nums to compost bins. 🛟The inoculant is some insurance that this process happens in case this bacteria is not naturally occurring in your soil. 🐈⬛Another basic garden idea is not using animal-products as fertilizer when it’s not necessary. Check out my bio links for more info. Know these plants and herbs? I trust many of us do as some of these are used commonly as cooking ingredients to help raise the taste and flavour of the food. In fact, they can also act as natural repellents against pests and insects and with that we do not need to get those insecticides that are bad for our health and affect our environment. And most importantly, save money in getting those expensive "chemicals". This pictorial shows what kinds of insects these herbal plants are effective against and for your reference if you are thinking of getting some. #nature #love #garden #beautiful #plants #flowerphotography #instagood #naturelovers #flores #photo #like #green #gardening #beauty #picoftheday #herbgarden #herbs #pest #herbgardening #herb #growyourown #growyourownfood #kitchengarden #pestcontrol #homegrown #organicgardening #gardenlife #greenthumb #freshherbs #medicinalherbs @zfy_ed84 #eddiechung #gardener #plantscience #plantsofinstagram #green #horticulture #agriculture #flora #knowledgeshare #knowledgesharing

Wanna guess what plant is this? You will be surprised if I tell you. This plant is actually germinated from seed which I sowed "quite a while ago" and imagine how long it takes to grow to its current stage. Well, this is actually my golden kiwifruit plant! It is growing well and tall with big leaves and I noticed some leaves are bitten by pests as I do not use pesticides. Many people are skeptical about growing kiwifruits here in Singapore because our tropical climate may not be very suitable for this plant and it's quite true. However, I managed to "buck the trend" and successfully propagated them using the seeds from the fruits after several attempts. I am so excited and happy! But you will need to have lots of patience especially during the germination stage which can take from 2-6 weeks if successful. Anyone keen to plant Kiwi fruits (or any other veggies, flowering/fruit trees), do PM me! #gardening #plantstagram #plants #seeds #gardeningtips #plant #gardenlife #planting #plantstrong #gardeners #horticulture #gardeninglove #gardener #plantsmakepeoplehappy #gardeningisfun #gardenersofinstagram #plantsofinstagram #growyourfood #kiwifruit #growwhatyoueat #greenthumb #mygarden #happygardener #gardeninspiration #seedsowing #gardeningmakesmehappy #happygrowing #organicgardening #homegrown #plantsplantsplants @Zfy_ed84 #eddiechung #plantoftheday #mygarden #houseplant #greenery #fruittree #postoftheday
