Where will the new ASCE sustainable infrastructure standard be used in future projects?
“We are committed to general investments into the future. These investments speak to the urgency in which Reclamation, U.S. Department of the Interior and the Biden-Harris Administration are leading and promoting collaborating solutions across the Basin. We have had many discussions this week; we will have more discussions in the new year," Reclamation Commissioner Camille Calimlim Touton said to attendees today as closing speaker at the 2023 Colorado River Water Users Association conference. #CRWUA2023

Highlights from our Annual Board and Member meeting from Karen Meidlinger! We will be posting highlights from the meeting over the next week or so. Did you have any ah-ha moments you would like to share? #watermanagement #waterresources #waterinfrastructure #waterquality #datadrivendecisions
I really enjoyed attending the Annual Board and Member Meeting of the Water Resources Association of the Delaware River Basin (WRA) yesterday which was held in the beautiful American Water Headquarters building in Camden, NJ. A huge thank you to Skelly Holmbeck for providing this incredible forum. The highlight for me was the technical presentation that was delivered by Steve Tambini, Executive Director of the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) entitled 'State of the Basin'. DRBC is updating its State of the Basin Report so look out for this next version to be published. It was fun to run into many industry friends there including Christopher Curran, Nicole Brown, Carol Collier, Chris Crockett, Eileen Feldman, Larry Finnicum, Kristen Bowman Kavanagh, Preston Luitweiler, Michelle Mancuso, Juan Pablo Vicuna Reyes, P.E., PMP and Mathy Stanislaus, Esq.. It was wonderful to meet new friends as well including Abdullah Al-Amin, Matthew Csik, Russ Furnari, John Hammell and Mike Rockel. Pictured are (from left to right) Nicole Brown, me, Russ Furnari and Steve Tambini with Michelle Mancuso in the background. The photo credit goes to Steve Tambini. #becomeamemberofwra, #delawareriver, #stateofthebasin, #water, #wastewater, #wra

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of my tenure with the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC). It is fitting that I have the opportunity to share with you a snapshot of our work in the newly released 2023 annual report of the DRBC. This year’s annual report once again highlights the mission and results of the DRBC to manage, protect and improve the water resources of the Delaware River Basin for the benefit of over 14 million people in four states. The report will take you on a journey from the headwaters to the ocean and highlight the diversity of the basin along the main stem Delaware River; the critical work being performed throughout the basin; and some of the continuing water resources management challenges. https://lnkd.in/dE_ZEcU

Founder/CEO, WaterCitizen.Org 501(c)3 & WaterPitch! ™ Water Startup Matching Extravaganza™ | Transforming Water Experts Into Changemakers | Champion For Women Of Water | Producer/Host of Water Summits/Podcasts/Events
Fascinating article on Water Planning and Management on the #ColoradoRiver - or lack thereof - written by Anne Castle who, as former Assistant Secretary of Water and Science at the U.S. Department of the Interior , worked on the front lines of this River's battles. PERSONAL NOTE: When I got my PhD in Civil Engineering/Water Resources Planning and Management - on top of my Government, Geology, Civil Engineering and Environmental Management degrees - this is the sort of career I thought I was preparing myself for. Spending my life bringing people together to create and implement collaborative solutions to great water challenges. Didn't happen. There are women like Anne who have played an important role in Water Planning and Management (and often are very good at it) - especially in the Colorado River (from people likePatricia Mulroy in Las Vegas and @Maureen Stapleton in San Diego, many at Interior, as well as women like the Founding head of the US Water Alliance and current head of USEPA 's Office of Water Radhika Fox ) - and women often are very good at bringing together disparate interests in the macho world of water. Unfortunately, there are still not a lot of Women Leaders in the Water Sector and especially not in Planning. Based on my experience and the experiences of 100s of women I have interviewed for Media or Research, every woman I know who has succeeded had a sponsor/champion and/or a level of understanding of the sometimes Machiavellian politics of water organizations (which I lacked at the time). That's one of the reasons we created the League of Extraordinary Women Of Water Mastermind, which starts at the end of the year and runs through 2024. If you are a Woman Of Water who wants to have a greater impact and is interested in experiencing a Mastermind, come join us at one of our free Women Of Water Masterrminds Friday December 1 or 15. https://lnkd.in/garMd87x
GWC Sr. Fellow Anne Castle shared her expertise on management of the #ColoradoRiver with the Colorado Sun in this timely article. We can come together and find common ground to support a more #sustainable and #equitable future for the river, but it will take some hard work. https://lnkd.in/gHZ247G7
