The mission of the 100 Black Men of Eastern New York is to serve the African American community in Eastern New York in the areas of Education, Health and Wellness, Advocacy, Mentoring, community Development, Leadership Development and Economic Empowerment. The 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. was formed to address the current issues of our day in our community, and to build upon the illustrious foundation of the men who paved the way for a more just, and equitable society. The “100” advocates for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in all aspects of society. The founders of 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. have a long and lengthy history of service and commitment to downstate, New York. Our goal is to bring together a variety of men from diverse backgrounds who are committed to the community and have exemplified excellence in their prospective spheres of influence. Dear Equity and Justice Supporters, In 2023, Bridges Leadership & Education Services LLC was able to partner with local and national organizations to support family engagement with learning. Through our institutes, we partnered with community organizations that focused on literacy, art, college & and career readiness, youth activism, and academic achievement. This year we are partnering with organizations for Black students’ well-being, suicide prevention, smoking cessation, and bullying prevention. Bridges was able to provide workshops at global conferences focused on supporting Black children and youth in schools. One conference, Centering the Black Child, gave us the time to meet with over 200+ participants who wanted to learn about practices that affirm Black children in schools. We also provided Keynotes that provided instruction and inspiration to help people leading in schools to center safety and belonging in diverse family engagement practices and policies. It was your support that made it partially possible. Thank you for partnering with us in the past to provide high-quality services in the form of institutes, trainings, and keynotes, to build the capacity of those working in your organization to deliver valuable services to students, staff, faculty, and families. Back by popular demand are our Black family engagement institutes. These 2-3 in-person events only happen 2-3 times a year. We also offer keynotes, and workshops to build capacity to partner with BIPOC families. Our special sauce is Black family engagement. When asked what his favorite part about being a campus leader is, Gabe's answer was three-pronged: 1️⃣ "My favorite part about being a campus leader is to help the organization I’ve joined, and its members reach their potential." 2️⃣ "A very close second is being able to meet some exceptional people, many of which I am in constant contact with to this very day. AALIGN as an organization is filled with amazing people who do amazing things on a daily basis." 3️⃣ "Finally, the third thing that I love is AALIGN’s desire to bring forth topics that are not traditionally discussed within the walls of the classroom. Some of which have been things like mental health in our daily lives, specifically the impact that Black women have had on America, and Juneteenth and its relevance in American history." Speaking of #Juneteenth, AALIGN is hosting a Lunch & Learn on June 19 - "Freedom...and Then What?" This event is open to all students, faculty, staff, and alum. Interested?
