5 weeks to go until our National Inclusion Week Executive Panel event that we have been collaborating on with EDI Charter for Rail, Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT), c2c (Trenitalia c2c Ltd), The Hub - Transport Advisory and GTR (Govia Thameslink Railway)
National Inclusion Week, the last week of September, is a key highlight of the Diversity and Inclusion calendar as it really encompasses everyone and everything. Inclusion doesn’t just happen. The ongoing work and conversations surrounding Diversity and Inclusion has helped the world to evolve and to make people and businesses think about how their workforce and their values represent them.
We have seen positive change in businesses. Topics such as disability and accessibility, religion, sexual orientation, gender, race and culture, are often talked about in all parts of the business, and it’s not uncommon to see businesses promoting their celebrations of identity and culture. However, like most initiatives and change, it still needs support from the top.
The Executive of the company can influence change. They can steer the future and encourage new ways of thinking and working. We wanted to look at this and think about how Executives can continue to make change and understand how much of an impact they can have.
We have invited various panellists, who are Exec members, from different areas across the industry. Drawing from this year’s theme ‘Take Action, Make Impact’ we will be exploring topics such as why it’s important to have a diverse Executive team, how their unique personal experiences can inspire others, what we can learn from other industries, and how the industry can drive Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility as part of its future to create a more accepting and welcoming environment for all.
Joining us on the Panel will be Abu Siddeeq from c2c (Trenitalia c2c Ltd), Karen Lewis from DOHL , Stephen Duckworth from Network Rail, Suzanne Donnelly and Michael Clark from Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT), Gary Lincoln from TXM Group, Alicia A. from Southeastern Railway, Patrick Verwer from GTR (Govia Thameslink Railway) and Lisa Leighton from Northern
We hope you can join us too.
