The Digital Shift in Construction is slowly moving 💻 Last week I visited the digitalBAU in Cologne, a leading event showcasing digital transformation in the construction sector. It's inspiring to witness the shift towards a more modern, online world characterized by easy design shifts and user-friendliness. Innovations from platforms like Capmo, Cosuno or PROPSTER are remarkable, showcasing rapid growth and development. Meanwhile, established software such as RIB Software is evolving, embracing new designs and gradually integrating data platforms. Procore Technologies is leading the way in fostering interaction and openness of their platform approach. However, we're still at the beginning of a long journey. 🚀 The industry primarily utilizes isolated tools targeting specific issues – a positive step, yet not enough for holistic digital integration. The prevalent project-centric mindset hinders the broader adoption of integrated data systems. Despite progress, many construction companies continue to favor traditional, isolated approaches and project specific solutions. It's crucial for us to redefine our approach to data: prioritizing sustainability, integration, and connectivity. Only through this we can unlock true automation and drive significant productivity advancements in construction.
