All pertinent information is displayed within the optic so that he never needs to take his eyes off of the target. Nammo AS - current providers of solid rocket motors for AMRAAM, Sidewinder and Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile, and Raytheon, an RTX business, signed an agreement to support the expansion of Nammo’s Perry, Florida site. This planned expansion introduces new manufacturing lines to increase production of critical solid rocket motors in the United States. Through this agreement, Nammo and Raytheon ensure another reliable and independent domestic source of rocket motors for its current and future weapon systems. Nammo has demonstrated its capabilities in solid rocket motor propulsion development and production since the 1960s. Nammo has produced rocket motors for several weapon systems and has delivered over 35,000 for the Sidewinder program alone. It's remarkable to see start ups such as Castelion competing with the likes of Raytheon (RTX), Lockheed, and Northrop in the Advanced Weapons and Hypersonics domain. The amount of time and investment that is required for R&D, design, test, and manufacture of these next-gen weapons systems can be a towering barrier to entry, but they have been able to not only overcome those challenges, but excel. Companies such as Boom Supersonic, Rocket Labs, Stratolaunch, and Castelion are truly at the cutting edge of aerospace. #aerospace #defense

IRST systems consist of sensors capable of detecting heat signatures emitted by airborne objects, even in the absence of active radar or other #electronic emissions. By passively detecting thermal radiation emitted by targets, IRST systems offer several advantages, including stealth operation, resistance to electronic countermeasures, and the ability to track targets without emitting signals that could reveal the platform's position. IRST technology enhances situational awareness and provides valuable targeting information to military aircraft, enabling them to detect and engage threats more effectively, particularly in complex and dynamic combat environments.
